POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: Assistant Manager-Inventory
Schedule: Store hours are 11am-12am, 7 days a week.

Salary Range: $24.89 – $32.36 per hour DOE

Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager-Inventory is responsible for ensuring effective operations of the dispensary by overseeing and directing day-to-day operations. Assistant Manager specializes in implementing and maintaining effective inventory management and maintaining a thorough understanding of the Dispensary’s compliance policies, intake process, and retail procedures. Trains employees on inventory processes and policies and supports and covers retail sales as needed. Honors and represents the mission, vision, values of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe and Q’anápsu Cannabis Dispensary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with cross-divisional teams to help build consensus on strategic objectives, goals, and operational plans
- Supports General Manager in implementing store programs by working directly with the store’s team to execute action plans that meet operational and organizational objective
- Fosters a work environment that is cohesive and represents the mission, values and brand guidelines.
- Promotes a culture of teamwork, provides clear direction, and establishes candid priorities.
- Maintains a flexible and open schedule in order to be available to meet the demands of the store; supports staff by covering lunches, breaks, and absences.
- Cultivates a team environment to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Trains team in developing product and business knowledge, including how to educate customers on different types of cannabis-related products, effects, and safe usage, and determining suitable cannabis products based on the customers’ needs, preferences, budget, and personal reactions to different strains of cannabis; ensures product knowledge data is accurate and current.
- Presents recommendations to General Manager on how to improve business performance.
- Ensures compliance with established health, security, and safety regulations.
- Maintains current knowledge for all dispensary products and stays abreast of developments in cannabis laws, industry trends and products.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.
- Monitors customer satisfaction and quality assurance; reports problems, accidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment trouble to General Manager.
- Improves staff effectiveness by tracking employee performance and assisting General Manager with feedback, coaching, and performance appraisals; recommends training for staff to General Manager.
- Oversees all product intake and processing, ensuring accurate tracking per policies and accounting protocols.
- Masters and maintains ability to operate POS system and its reporting function, execute sales, make product suggestions, and coach staff in such tasks.
- Ensures compliance with handing, storing, selling, and tracking of products.
- Implements and maintains effective inventory organization ensuring a “best practice” approach to inventory control.
- Adheres to FIFO standards and ensures product quality at all times.
- Conducts regular audits and adjusts discrepancies as appropriate; verifies accuracy of inventory counts, compliance, and quality checks during intake.
- Develops reporting process to ensure optimal inventory storage and control; implements processes to reduce costs; manages inventory calendar.
- Reviews reconciliation requests and responds appropriately.
- Facilitates and tracks vendor returns.
- Stores and updates Vendor Intake Forms, tracking data and reporting monthly.
- Maintains “back of house” areas including intake room, product vault, and storage.
- Manages and documents product waste; communicates loss with vendors; and escalates concerns to General Manager.
- Monitors industry and product trends, recommending discontinuance of products as appropriate.
- Drives merchandise strategy, including promotions and pricing, through review of inventory levels.
- Forecasts to minimize shortages.
- Manages sample process and distribution.
- Ensures identification and legal age is verified for all customers by all staff.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of traditional form of government and tribal customs and traditions.
- Knowledge of cannabis products and strains, medicinal benefits, methods of consumption, and effects of products.
- Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
- Skill in treating internal and external customers with tact, courtesy, and respect.
- Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
- Skill in supervising, training, developing, and evaluating staff.

- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below.
Background Investigation Requirements:
- Pre-employment drug screen (marijuana is excluded).
- Reference checks, education, and employment verification.
- State, and/or tribal criminal history checks, which could include fingerprint verification.

- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below.
