Summit State Bank is growing to serve businesses in the Specialty Agriculture industry, offering deposit accounts and supporting services to the cannabis industry. We are looking for a Specialty Banking Manager (SBM) to perform a variety of integral and self-directed responsibilities within branch operations, focused primarily on Cash Management services primarily for the cannabis industry including but not limited to Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Bill Pay, Remote Deposit Capture, ACH, and Positive Pay. The SBM is responsible for coordinating the initial due diligence review, set-up, implementation, training, and on-going maintenance and support of cash management services for new and existing cannabis related business (CRB) customers. The SBM works directly with Bank Secrecy Act Department, Branch Managers, and Central Operations to ensure and maintain compliance, support cash management services and retain and cultivate relationships with Bank CRB customers. Exceptional customer service and project management skills are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned,
- Develop commercial relationships in the Cannabis Related Business Industry.
- Leads and actively participates, both individually and with others, in business development calling efforts.
- Actively sets appointments and meets with potential CRB customers to discuss deposit needs and perform initial due diligence to ensure they are a right fit for the Bank.
- Participates in representation of the Bank at various civic and community functions in support of Bank marketing and to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business.
- Interfaces with other Bank departments, as needed, to achieve highest service standards for Bank CRB customers.
- Establish strong customer relationship management structure and processes to effectively manage relationships.
- Utilize a strong knowledge of Bank and Cash Management products, internal policies and procedures to professionally respond to customers and branch inquiries.
- Coordinate the boarding of new, and maintenance of existing, CRS customer relationships with various departments within the Bank. Responsible for quality control of submitted applications and documentation.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for CRB and Cash Management products, services and systems.
- Troubleshoot wide-range issues, identify and mitigate risks, while keeping management informed.
- Coordinate customer/prospect calling activities with compliance, relationship and branch managers.
- Coordinate and manage the preparation and presentation of cash management, CRB customer and prospect banking proposals.
- Responsible for completion and submission of CRB customer cash management agreements as well as understanding and assessing needs and recommending appropriate risk limits.
The strong candidate will have at least six years of relevant experience including recent experience with banking cannabis related businesses. Candidates must exhibit superior customer service skills, have the ability to build customer relationships and a fine attention to detail.
