Position Overview
We are looking for an individual who will be working with a variety of laboratory/production tasks in accordance with state and local laws and City Trees SOPs and Best Practices. This individual must be able to multitask, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to change priorities and tasks as needed. The City Trees production lab is a very fast-paced environment experiencing continual growth and expansion. Successful Lab Technicians must be motivated, trustworthy, and a team player.
Essential Job Functions
- Following & adapting to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Keep laboratory inventorying in stock
- Operating, maintaining, and making adjustments and repairs to laboratory
- Intake and Process raw hemp material
- Maintain glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and organizing
- Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps
- Participate in planning personnel safety and warehouse protection activities
- Carry out laboratory production; intake raw material; enter and track material quantities in our internal system; create batch records of a given process; troubleshooting and resolving problems; maintaining logs and record books; maintaining glassware; daily lab cleanup.
- Document information by creating and maintaining accurate batch records
- Enhance laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Keep equipment operational by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
Requirements
- Cannabis experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain an incredibly high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidence, confidentially, and composure during difficult and/or complex situations. * Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced deadline environment while successfully managing multiple tasks.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong understanding of standard laboratory protocol.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work, influence, problem solve, and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record in adapting to change and accelerating the performance of laboratory groups. * Demonstrated ability to be well balanced between the strategic view of the work and the execution aspect of the role.
- Current & in good standing Nevada MME Production Category badge.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Effective and timely communication of timelines, workforce needs, supplies, and ancillary items necessary to successfully complete assigned tasks.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Have reliable transportation and a driver's license.
- Must pass all required background checks and obtain cannabis work cards with the State of NV and City of NLV Police Dept.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
- Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 30 pounds (100 pounds with assistance). This job function may include walking, standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.
- Knowledge of and compliance with Federal and State Cannabis regulations.
- Knowledge of safety practices and all applicable safety standards in the cannabis production industry. * Basic computer literacy in working with Outlook email and Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- A minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Including 2 years of direct laboratory experience in this or relevant/related field is required.
Reimbursement
- $16.00 to $18.50 Hourly; DoE.
- Overtime eligible position.
