Position Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the daily technical management, supervision and control of the inventory, storage, transportation processes for our production and storage sites. The Greenhouse Manager will lead the team towards efficient and safe transport, quality output, and a high-level of production performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- With Warehouse Manager, conduct equipment and field safety tours at least monthly.
- Ensure that employees are professionally trained on usage of and treatment of equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, machinery utilized in processing, manufacturing and production, onsite technology for employees (time clocks and computers), security cameras and systems, safety gear, etc.
- Assure facility and all field operations meet all regulatory safety requirements.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in investigating any safety-related events (injuries, death, near-misses) and implementing any corrective and preventive measures. Document and then immediately communicate any safety-related events or concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Implement and oversee a plant cleanliness program according to ISO and cGMP guidelines.
- Regularly review facility security measures to ensure technology is functioning and meeting requirements.
- With the Operations Manager, track, monitor and oversee equipment usage and monitor the inventory and maintenance of all equipment (owned or rented). Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and stored (if applicable). Ensure that inventory lists are tracked and updated. Ensure that employees are professionally trained on usage of and treatment of equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, machinery utilized in processing, manufacturing and production, onsite technology for employees (time clocks and computers), security cameras and systems, safety gear, etc.
- Develop, implement, enforce, and regularly evaluate the production, productivity, and quality policies and procedures for Logistics Operations.
- Coordinate with Storage facilities and Site Managers of the movement of finished goods, raw materials and supplies.
- Assist sites in forecasting inbound and outbound shipments.
- Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout.
- With Operations Manager, CFO, COO and CSCMO, analyze and evaluate potential expansion opportunities, including new or upgrading equipment, increased production capacity and staff growth and development.
- Monitor logistics processes; resolve issues and improve inefficiencies.
- Generate weekly and quarterly reports and deliver to DOL and Warehouse Manager.
- Responsible for tracking and documenting Chain of Custody for all material movement onsite.
- Supervise and coordinate with Operations Manager to evaluate performance of direct reports.
- Train and enforce existing and newly hired production supervisors in health and safety precautions and cGMP and Quality Control SOP’s.
- Track and Monitor production reports from the Production Supervisors and QA/QC Manager.
- Promote a positive work environment.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Operations Managers to formulate objectives, develop budgets and forecast needs.
- Set a leadership tone that emphasizes the value of each employee.
- Create a positive work environment.
- Instill a culture of meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Meet or exceed production budget and schedules.
- Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace.
