Role Summary
Performs duties at the professional level in some or all the following functional areas: recruiting, employee relations, performance management, training, benefits management, policy implementation, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive and organized person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Human Resources Generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the business needs.
Roles Responsibilities
§ Manages recruiting for open US cannabis facility positions
§ Actively sources candidates from various job-boards, networks, websites and social media platforms 
§ Manages talent communications including offer letters, promotion letters and pre-employment requirements
§ Contacts and screens applicants; provides vacancy and organizational information to applicants. 
§ Conducts employee onboarding sessions
§ Acts as an employee relations specialist and a liaison for employees
§ Maintains employee personnel files and records in electronic form and through the HRIS system
§ Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., 75-day, annual)
§ Updates, monitors and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based performance review schedule and mid-year promotions
§ Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases
§ Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes
§ Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process
§ Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan. Reconciles the benefit billing to ensure accuracy
§ Administers COBRA for group health plans
§ Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict free workplace
§ Administer employee leaves (FMLA, personal, etc) and keep constant communication while employee is out and maintain compliance with paperwork
§ Ensure compliance with both state and federal labor laws and completes any reporting if necessary
Required Qualifications
Formal Education or Equivalent:
§ Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of experience.
§ Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resource programs.
Preferred Education and Experience
§ Human resource experience in cannabis or similar industry
§ Three to five years of HR Generalist experience.

Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time minimum of 40 hours per week. Standard Monday to Friday office hours is observed but may require evenings and weekends.
Working conditions
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
