At My Best Bud we create veterinarian-formulated medical cannabis products for animals to improve their quality of life. Cannabinoid therapy is a rapidly growing field in pet health, and we are looking for the right sales representative to join our team in our Southern California and Northern California areas. Job Summary:
The Account Manager position is responsible for actively calling on current and new customers and will have their own exclusive territory. Training and leads will be provided. The position involves visiting CA state licensed retailers introducing them to My Best Bud and the benefits we can offer the retailer, their customers and their pets. The Account Manager should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience and have a thorough understanding of the cannabis industry and community. The ideal Account Manager candidate will be comfortable in a fluid, dynamic startup environment, passionate about animals, the cannabis industry and will bring an energetic, fun and creative approach to their work.
Responsibilities:
- Set up meetings with retailer purchasing managers via cold-calling, email, and social media outreach
- Visit retailers daily to understand customer needs and desires, and make sales presentations
- Follow-up with prospective accounts via phone, e-mail, and SMS to stay top of mind and close new business
- Facilitate on-site patient appreciation days, budtender education events and other events on a regular basis
- Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
- Work with the marketing team to develop new sales material and refine company messaging
- Relay feedback from customers.
- Spend majority of time in the field visiting retailers
- Maintain customer relationship database (CRM) and ensure that all information is up-to-date and accurate
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant field sales experience in the cannabis industry preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree a plus
- Personal list of cannabis industry contacts a plus
- Proven track record of developing and executing a sales plan, building new business, and meeting/exceeding sales quotas preferred
- Ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient technical skills including use of MS Office, Google Drive, and CRM software
- Must have a valid California driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, insurance, and a clean driving record
- Must be self-motivated, hard-working, and passionate about the cannabis industry and animal well-being. This position requires someone to be a people person with a positive attitude and great sales skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to think on your feet are preferred. Ability to prioritize and organize. Ability to listen, ask questions and understand customer needs. Must be able to communicate remotely using phone and email.
