POSITION SUMMARY
We have an immediate need for a Manufacturing Controller reporting directly to the CFO and will primarily be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions, including general & cost accounting, implementation and monitoring of controls. The right candidate will be implementing many new processes and procedures for the department, to take us to a state of maturity and be able to scale with our growth.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an adequate system of accounting records, implementing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results
- Maintain a monthly closing schedule and ensure that all processes are complete before financials are presented.
- Prepare, review, analyze, and present timely and accurate monthly financials for the company. Ensures financials are in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Support the Treasury function of the organization with appropriate forecasting and cash management procedures
- Support preparation and maintenance of annual budgets with the FP&A team, financial forecasts and performance analysis
- Communicate with CFO to ensure coordination of financials with corporate strategies and budgets
- Perform analysis and reporting on inventory and margin accounts, including returns and warranty allowance, shrinkage, LCM, and aged inventory
- Develop focused reports including KPI monitoring tools Implements and report metrics critical to the business and drives improvements, identifying and improving trends.
- Build and maintain the standard costing inventory environment,
- Ensure bill of material and costing accurately reflect production operations
- Calculate and maintain month-end closing journal entries including related consolidating and eliminating journal entries.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s preferred, but not required
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the CPG industry
- Financial modeling and business analysis experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility
- Must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with a well-developed work ethic and tremendous resourcefulness

POSITION SUMMARY
The Mary’s Brand Marketing Manager for the CBD Categories (Mary’s Nutritionals, Mary’s Methods, and Mary’s Tails) will be accountable for thinking creatively and tactically to help build and execute various marketing strategies to support sales goals and drive brand performance via our retail partners. This will include activating new accounts and creating programs to support existing accounts on a local, regional, and national scale. This position will work with cross-functional partners such as Sales, R&D, PR, Creative, etc., to ensure that we're bringing our go-to-market vision and strategy to life. To be successful in this role, the candidate needs to embody the following: self-starter, creative problem solver, acute attention to detail, and team player.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring that the products, services, and messaging that fall under the CBD domain resonate with current and potential customers and end-consumers
- Think creatively and tactically to help build and execute the marketing strategies for our human and pet CBD categories
- Assist in developing channel strategy to increase product visibility, brand exposure, and support the efforts of the sales team
- Manage the development and execution of in-store merchandising elements to create an impactful path to purchase, in conjunction with marketing teammates
- Work on the development and execution of the CBD category’s digital media strategy – from social media to content to email to advertising - in collaboration with marketing teammates
- Continuously monitor marketing trends and keep a close eye on competitive products in the marketplace
- Monitor the ROI and KPI’s of marketing efforts, promotions and participation in events to ensure a positive and measurable impact on sales
- Constantly represent the voice of our customers and end-consumers in all marketing communications
- Support the sales team’s marketing needs (sales decks, promotional materials)
- Assist with developing and bringing new products and services to market
- Serve as CBD category lead for any agency partners
- Develop clear and effective creative briefs for campaigns and programs and serve as a program manager for all efforts
- Analyze potential strategic partners for collaborations
- Manage creative asset requests
- Some travel required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of product and/or brand marketing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field
- CPG experience required, ideally in pet, wellness, and/or nutraceuticals. Cannabis experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to proactively contribute innovative ideas as well as anticipate issues and provide creative solutions
- Experience in both retail and e-commerce preferred
- Previous experience managing an agency partner relationship preferred
- Ability to multi-task projects with acute attention to detail
- Strong program management skills including clear, effective and consistent communication and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
