Position Summary
The Flower Section Supervisor works with the Cultivation department in the flowering cycle of a cannabis plant. Responsible for crop care and maintenance; meeting crop schedules and goals. To ensure the quality of product meets or exceeds expected standards. Supervise supporting Cultivation Dept personnel, including direct labor activities.
General
Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check – certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state cannabis licensing regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work with Director of Cultivation to develop, refine and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training program for flower rooms.
- Lead the flower section department to meet production demand, quantity, and quality of ready to harvest plants.
- Direct supervision of Flower Section Leads, including mentoring, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Work with management to implement and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Create, monitor, and communicate labor schedules.
- Record accurate information and ensure all tracking is compliant with government regulations.
- Oversee management of plants in early and late flower cycle growth.
- Maintain plant scheduling and organization week by week for all stages of growth.
- Project stages of plants and growth to determine optimal times for crop maintenance.
- Maintain inventory items for cultivation staff, such as gloves, masks, scissors, etc.
- Monitor standard cultivation tasks such as spacing, topping, de-leafing, transplanting into flower cycle, etc. through the ERP system.
- Manage weekly crop works plans as provided. Monitor crop labor for performance, quality, and adherence to scheduling.
- Adhere to all Company Environmental, Health and Safety Policies.
- Organize personal schedule to maximize productivity and time management.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two-year degree in a horticultural or agricultural field or demonstrated experience in horticulture or agricultural production preferred.
- Bilingual (desirable).
- At least two years of cannabis experience is required.
- Knowledge of the cannabis growth cycle and requirements (desirable).
- Knowledge of the Cannabis sativa growth cycle and requirements (desirable).
- Willingness to continue learning about horticulture and cannabis farming and stay on top of current and future trends.
- Ability to work independently and to multitask efficiently.
- Ability to take directions, self-check and follow up on work.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be a team player and meet deadlines.
