The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an independent, highly organized, and detail-oriented licensed Registered Nurse for the Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center located Waukegan, Illinois. This position will be responsible for performing direct nursing care for people with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. Thesuccessful candidate shall demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able to carry out nursing assignments pursuant to the direction of medical personnel.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provides professional nursing care to individuals served on an assigned shift .
2. Provides work-related guidance, instructi ons and explanations to lower level nursing staff and other direct supportstaff in the care of individuals, injury reduction, health and safety, hygiene, treatment, procedures and the use of equipment.
3. Att ends treatment team meetings to update the Interdisciplinary Team on changes in medical status, additional medical needs and completes paperwork to document medical information in accordance with policies and guidelines.
4. Performs quality assurance activities.
5. Attends training to keep abreast of latest nursing techniques and concepts.
6. Serves as Center-wide medical/nursing resource on the assigned shift during the absence of other professional nursing personnel.
7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires graduation from an approved nursing educati on program resulting in an associate or diploma degree in nursing or a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
2. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires the ability to work aft er business hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotation basis.
2. Requires the ability to serve on an on-call basis.
3. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
4. Requires basic computer skills.
5. Requires ability to acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
6. Requires the ability to travel.

Job Responsibility
1. Serves as Director of Social Work at Chester Mental Health Center.
2. Serves as full-line supervisor.
3. Attends weekly administrative meetings and clinical executive committee meetings to represent the social work discipline.
4. Plans and implements the quality improvement procedures for the Social Work Department.
5. Verifies continuity of care is provided to patients transferred to other state operated hospitals or discharged to the community.
6. Plans and conducts in-service programs in the Social Work Department and for other professional and paraprofessional departments.
7. Other duties as assigned or reasonably within scope.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work, plus three years of progressively responsible professional experience in a recognized social work services agency.
2. Requires licensure by the Illinois Department of Finance and Professional Regulation as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

- Verifies unit program policies, procedures and treatment plans comply with Department rules and regulations, Center policy and procedures, DHS, Public Health, as well as other relevant standards and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
