Full Job Description
Job Description:
Happy Dirt was founded in 2004 when local and organic produce was not easy to find in the Southeast. We operated as Eastern Carolina Organics for 15 years, focusing solely on Carolina organic farmers. In 2019 we re-branded to Happy Dirt to scale up our ability to serve customers and farmers by building up the organic produce supply chain beyond our state borders. We are as committed as ever to building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with the hundreds of farmers and wholesale buyers that we now partner with throughout North America.
Happy Dirt’s unique and authentic way of partnering with farmers is a major industry differentiator. The Grower Services Coordinator will improve upon the holistic and specific ways that Happy Dirt seeks to support farmers. This position will serve as a liaison to our farmers, offering assistance with topics such as production planning, forecasting, on-farm quality control, generational transition planning, accessing off-farm resources such as grants, and more. This position will also serve as a forager for the Happy Dirt team, seeking out the best quality produce from farmers with the highest of integrity. Happy Dirt works with non-organic producers, with a special preference for farmers who may be a good fit for organic production in the future.
This is a great opportunity for someone with wholesale organic vegetable farming experience who is no longer farming but seeks to continue to engage with farmers and support the organic food system.

- Share data and analytics across the farmer network to improve success on the farm
- Connect farmers with food safety and other critical training resources while supporting Happy Dirt food safety protocols and certifications
- Work with farmers to improve forecasting skills and streamline real-time data
Qualifications:
- Passionate advocate for farmers

- Experience in creating and implementing an organic farm plan
