The Production Manager is responsible for the management, continuous improvement, and quality of the Production facility, its employees, and outputs. The Production Manager supervises, motivates, develops, and holds accountable all members and departments of the production team. The Production manager is responsible for all aspects of Emerald Canning Partners production. The effective and efficient planning, staffing, and scheduling, as dictated by production requirements. Ensuring all legal, compliance, and chain of custody requirements are met and diligently followed by all staff. This leadership position requires that the PM be responsible for the P&L of the production facility and meets all financial and budgetary goals.
Being in this leadership position you and your team are responsible for supporting the company vision, mission, and culture. Successful applicants will have experience in instilling professionalism, communication, and continous improvement in the operations and culture.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, chemistry, biology, lab management or other related major
· Three or more years of production experience in beverage or cannabis manufacturing, with advanced knowledge of techniques, tools, and practices.
· Experience in a high-volume, fast paced startup environment
· Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining strict quality and compliance requirements.
· Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
· Thorough understanding and competency in seed-to-sale tracking systems
General and Administrative
· Communicate effectively with the general manager, managing board, and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that goals and objectives are met.
· Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the company’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and respect for individuals.
· Supervise the staff to effectively schedule and prioritize hours and, when necessary, reorganize to meet special activity requirements.
· Ensures all employees understand and abide by SOPS and standards of work.
· Responsible for production team employee morale, engagement, disciplinary action and awards, as well as hiring and firing.
· Achieve or exceed the budgeted goals and profits as presented by the General Manager and the Owners.
· Maintain a positive production Facility attitude and ensure that all employees under your supervision are aligned with the company goals.
· Follows all instructions (written and verbal) as given by the General Manager/Owner.
· Ensures that all company transactions are done in an ethical and prudent manner.
· Keeps updated on the events in the industry and marketplace in order to take advantage of new trends.
· Maintaining cleanliness outside & inside
Production Management
· Implementation of inventory control procedures on consumables, supplies and finished products.
· Maintain communication and collaborative relationship with all other business departments (sales, marketing, compliance, accounting, etc.)
· Be able to operate and maintain all equipment - Ensure SOPs are being created and maintained.
· Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance program.
· Maintain excellent facility cleanliness and sanitation standards
· Security of storage building & production building.
· Works to develop all QA/QC and analytical testing for quality, consistency and efficacy and is constantly improving workflow
· Develop processes for auditing and settling all product quality complaints.
· Work with retail store and consumption lounge to ensure they have sufficient inventory.
· Coordinates production and profit margins with accounting personnel.
· Develop, implement, and sustain, meaningful and actionable KPI’s.
· Drive innovation and continuous improvement
· Stay current on literature and legislation in the field and industry; following marijuana research on an ongoing basis, (including cannabinoids, terpenes, distillation and refining techniques, and new/innovative cannabis products) to keep abreast of industry trends and help further educate his team. understand the industry.
