You must be enthusiastic, willing to learn, thrives in high pressure, independent, and apply your skills/knowledge towards your role as a Kitchen Assistant. This position includes a 6-month training probationary period and will require and have immediate availability to begin working.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Making concentrates for edibles and other auxiliary products
- Produce weekly/monthly demand of all products
- Processing products for delivery
- Maintaining a clean environment to meet food safety standards (and more)
- Offer creative input when developing/improving new and existing product lines
- Be able to handle kitchen tasks as assigned
- Properly track products physically, and in METRC operating system
Qualifications
- Previous job experience in the following field(s): Baking, Food Handling, Food Prep, Culinary
- Familiarity with basic kitchen concepts and food safety requirements
- Ability to maintain physical records and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision

Job Summary
District Growers is looking for a Junior Garden Assistant, to help with cultivating cannabis and creating healthy medicinal plants. We are looking for an individual that fits within our close-knit oriented work environment, that will help maintain our goal of creating the highest quality cannabis on the market. This position includes an initial 6 month training program during which the candidate will train for 3 month in cultivation of cannabis and 3 months in the production of edible & concentrates. Upon successful completion of the 6 month training program, the trainee will be evaluated and potentially offered a permanent position on the team.
Experience in kitchen and/or cultivation production (not including cannabis) is a plus, but is not required. Our hours of operations are 7 days a week in the mornings, please do not apply if you are unable to work mornings and weekends.
Physical demands include standing at least 50% of the time, moving, and kneeling in small spaces (as small as 18” wide), occasionally ascending and descending ladders to perform task, and moving objects up to 50 pounds, work in lowered-light or green light conditions and work in hot and cold conditions.

- Help with processing/cultivating cannabis
- Harvesting weekly - Using the garden schedule to properly predict what harvest needs to come down - Using the scope to check trichomes
- Maintaining a clean environment, properly handling and disposing of green waste with MPD
- Maintaining garden numbers, including clones and plant count
- Maintaining physical and virtual paperwork for all plants and garden information
- Offer creative input when developing/improving garden measures (as needed)
- Be able to handle kitchen and garden tasks as assigned
- Properly track products in METRC operating system
Qualifications
- Training: No formal training is required; training will be provided. Training will focus on daily garden tasks but will also include a portion of production training - (If you have prior garden knowledge, having the willingness positively learn and apply only OUR grow methods)
- Previous job experience in the following fields is a plus: Gardening, Cultivating of any kind, as well as Food Handling and Food Prep

- Spot plant pests and other perils and act before they become a problem for plant health
- Manage plants, giving each individual plant the attention it needs

- Execute all activities in the veg, flower, and propagation rooms
- Track and record all veg or flower room data as directed
- Keep veg, flower, propagation, and dry rooms immaculate and fully operational.
- Take part in overall facility cleanliness
- Execute on veg and bloom plant maintenance
- Inform supervisor if growing environment is out of specification
- Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers
