The Mobilization Team is looking for a Donor Cultivation Director who will lead a team of professionals committed to supporting our grassroots, sustaining, and mid-level donors. They will work with the direct mail, telemarketing, email + SMS, and digital ads teams to meet donors where they are, and offer them opportunities to further their connections with the party. They will oversee a 1:1 mid-level donor relationship pipeline, continue the creation of the DNC’s first Planned Giving program, work with the Donor Cultivation Manager to monitor and grow the monthly donor program, plan and execute a twice monthly grassroots donor virtual events program, oversee a monthly call time schedule, and manage the needs of grassroots and mid-level donors.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee and manage the strategic vision, long term planning, and execution of a twice-monthly virtual events program which regularly features major political figures
- Oversee the DNC’s response to donor requests over email, mail, phone, and through the DNC’s website
- Manage the 1:1 mid-level donor outreach program to identify prospects for mid-level and high dollar fundraising
- Oversee a monthly call time program with DNC principals and other political figures
Manage the DNC’s Planned Giving program and work with outside consultants to continue growing the program’s reach- Manage your own 1:1 relationships with mid-level donors
- Track and report out supporter engagement and feedback to DNC senior leadership
- Manage a team of 3 full time donor cultivation staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Cultivate grassroots and mid-level donors through various engagement tactics:
About You:
- Ideal candidate will be a team player, a leader, and a creative thinker; you are willing to work hard and collaborate across a big department and a big organization to get the job done
- 4-5 years of experience working in fundraising for a political campaign or advocacy organization
- Experience using data analytics to drive programmatic decision making
- Experience managing staff
- Experience managing vendor and consultant relationships
- Experience with events, virtual events, membership services, and call time, and/or a willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with an ability to work and communicate effectively with principals, donors, staff, and vendors
Preference given for anyone with:
- Experience working with donors, clients, or constituents on a 1:1 basis
- Events experience, especially virtual events
- Experience using data analytics to drive strategy
- Experience with integrated fundraising
- Experience with monthly giving
- Experience with planned giving
Salary:
The starting salary for the Donor Cultivation Director position is $85,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for overtime wages.
