Day-to-Day Role
- Assemble advanced mechanical sub-assemblies and the main assembly of production equipment
- Perform basic wiring on electrical sub-assemblies and main electrical assemblies using a wire list
- Trouble-shoot advanced mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical problems on sub-assemblies and the main machine assembly, with limited supervision
- Installs kits or single machines in production plants
- Read advanced blueprints, bills of material, and various technical manuals as required
- Cross train with other positions in the department
- Order and transport stock equipment by forklift
- Disassemble and evaluate assemblies for repair, make recommendations, and execute the repairs
- Train and lead in the assembly of prototype and production machinery including associated sub-assemblies
- Understand and operate a production line system
- Understand production machine operating cycles and controls
- Aid Engineering in the construction and testing of prototype equipment
- Test and evaluate completed machines for quality and function
- Perform simple modifications to parts or machines
- Maintain and clean work area
- Assist in training and leading junior technicians
- Promote good employee relations and high morale
- Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible
- Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager
Core Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Mechanical Assembly Tech II-
Three (3) years’ experience in production assembly work
- Experience in reading and understanding assembly and machine shop prints
- Proficient in the use of various inspection tools such as depth micrometers, 6" scale, square head, dial calipers, and telescopic gauges
- Experience in identifying different threads and their applications, as well as drilling & tapping and the installation of threaded inserts
- Experience in identifying grade, type and size of fittings and fasteners and their use in different applications
- Demonstrate the maintaining of relationships between components through the checking of perpendicularity and parallelism
- Read and understand electrical schematics and hardwire assemblies from kits to full machines
- Read and understand hydraulic schematics
- Proficient in the safe use of power and hand tools
- Experience in utilizing technical manuals, and other written materials to effectively complete assigned projects/tasks/jobs
- Able to start/run production machinery and comprehend signal flow from machine to machine
- Demonstrate the processes involved in the manufacturing of Dart components to include defective materials, returning parts to the crib, documenting pull shortages, ordering prints and generate an engineering change notice
- Able to safely operate overhead lifting equipment (overhead crane license required)
- Able to utilize PC to generate work orders and bills of material, find parts and location in crib, find components and tools by using the alpha system, and backtrack component part activity to find parts in process
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal customers
- Ability to travel domestically to assist technician at customer facility
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Associates degree in mechanical or electrical technology or related field
Mechanical Assembly Tech III-
Five (5) years’ experience in production assembly work
- Experience in reading and understanding assembly and machine shop prints, also have ability to draw parts or modifications clearly and understandably
- Proficient in the use of all types of precision measuring tools
- Experience in identifying different types of threads and their applications with the ability to drill, tap and install all types of threaded inserts
- Understand and demonstrate the correct use and application of different grades of torque values of all bolts and fittings, bearings, etc.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulics schematics, and pneumatic specifications
- Possess fabrication skills including machining, welding, plasma cutting, sheet metal, and wiring to produce completed machinery
- Assemble and correctly integrate electrical and mechanical components to specifications
- Possess a working knowledge of the processes involved in the manufacturing of Dart components
- Understand documentation, initiate bills of material, check product kit structure, check for engineering changes
- Demonstrate the processes involved in the manufacturing of Dart components to include defective materials, returning parts to the crib, documenting pull shortages, ordering prints and generate an engineering change notice
- Proficient in the safe use of power and hand tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues
- Ability to travel domestically to assist technician at customer facility

Day-to-Day Role:
Maintenance Mechanic II & Maintenance Mechanic III
- Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
- Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
- Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Install, diagnose, analyze, maintain, modify, repair and/or rebuild a variety of plant and facility equipment
- Repair equipment during mechanical breakdowns or assist other staff in repairs
- Assist production personnel in change-over and set-ups
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas or to install new or repaired parts
May perform one or more of the following responsibilities within production or facilities maintenance:
- Communicate with operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human error contributed to the problems.
- Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
- Assist machinist / fabricators in fabricating parts
- Follow specification of basic blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings, install, maintain and repair equipment, machinery, physical structures and plumbing/electrical systems.
- Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic devices.
- Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), hoist, crane, and aerial lift
- Inspect, operate, or test faulty machinery, equipment, programmable controllers, and motors to diagnose machine malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of the functional operation of machinery
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently
- Maintain accurate documentation for assignments, machine repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance logs
- Learn and use SAP Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process, production schedules and reports, HMI control panels and machine controls and settings
- Prioritize work assignments to ensure efficiency and that production schedules can be met
- Train other Maintenance Mechanics as required
- May troubleshoot basic electrical equipment problems such as changing fuses, buttons, and switches
- Utilize specific knowledge for a variety of skilled trades, including but not limited to, production and facility machinery and equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pipefitting, carpentry, utilities, etc.

- Three (3) years’ experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or comparable experience with trade school or training
- Special knowledge in use of hand-tools, power-tools, [insert additional specializations such as machining, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, electrical, etc].
- Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot moderately complex problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges
- Ability to learn and understand manufacturing processes and able to inspect and repair or replace components.
- Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
- Proficient in reading and following basic blueprints, manuals, and mechanic and electrical schematics
- Experience operating test equipment and/or software
- Experience operating various hand and power tools
- Working knowledge of automated controls
- Ability to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), hoists and cranes, and maintain PIT certification
- Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
Maintenance Mechanic III
- Five (5) years’ experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or comparable experience with trade school or training

- Ability to perform root cause analysis, compare and investigate information, and recommend and implement resolution
- Proven analytical problem solver
- Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
- Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Advanced understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges
- Understand manufacturing processes and able to inspect and repair or replace components.
- Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, manuals, and mechanic and electrical schematics
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to modify basic reports, documents and spreadsheets in MS Word, and MS Excel
- Experience operating test equipment and/or software

Day-to-Day Role
- Provide continuous improvement leadership and support to drive KPI’s for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service.
- Act as a change agent for leading continuous improvement initiatives including development and delivery of training materials and programs.
- Facilitate regular improvement planning sessions to identify key strategic opportunities to achieve manufacturing strategic A3 goals and develop related action plans with measurable outcomes.
- Support and reinforce the effective application of the Daily Management System to validate that actions lead to desired performance improvements.

- Develop, implement and support the effective application of best practices as Standard Work, Standard Operating Conditions and Standard Operating Procedures.
