Job Description
We are expanding and seeking a qualified team member to join our labs. You will work with existing scientists and/or possibly oversee new business opportunities. This is your chance to join a company in an industry that is growing in pharmaceutical testing, including medicinal cannabinoid analysis.
The candidate for this role should be well-versed in a broad range of analytical testing techniques especially for ICP/MS. The ideal candidate has a strong experience in trace-level analysis and industry regulations knowledge (ISO 10993 series of standards, ICH, ISO 17025, cGMP, GCLP, GLP, etc.).
Duties will include.
- Develop and validate trace-level methods of Pharmaceuticals and cannabis contaminants.
- Conduct feasibility assessments for ICP projects. Develop methods, validate, or transfer.
- Analyze samples using ICP/MS, GC/MS/FID with headspace, HPLC, GPC, and FTIR.
- Perform routine advance analyses or chemical characterization of trace-level components
- Work includes sample handling, sample preparation, GMP testing, documentation and reporting.
- Complete technical and content data review of processed GMP data packages.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate understanding of good analytical techniques.
- Possess excellent communication skills for liaising with internal departments.
- Possess strong report writing and GMP technical data review skills.
- Demonstrate ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Assure all work performed are in compliant with ChRi Laboratories SOPs and cGMP requirements.
- Apply quality and regulatory guidelines (e.g. FDA cGMP, ICH) associated with the technical area.
- Possess expertise in data interpretation, identification, and sound technical conclusions.
- This role is working Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. From time to time coming in early, staying late, or occasional weekend work is necessary to meet the needs of our clients.
- Promote and support the overall mission of ChRi Laboratories by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with external clients, management, and peers; act in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment even when handling technical review and non-conformance actions.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required and desired.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Chemist, Biochemist, or Scientist in a regulated pharmaceutical field.
- AND two (2) years of laboratory data review experience, preferably in an FDA regulated industry (e.g. medical device, pharma, biotech); OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
- Working in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceuticals, GMP, or ISO accredited environment.
- Working familiarity with ICP-MS is a must have experience for this position.
- Knowledge of Agilent ICP_MS Mass Hunter Software.
- Knowledge of Waters Empower Chromatography Data System
- Experience performing or reviewing chromatography data.
- Experience performing or reviewing microbiology testing, such as environmental monitoring testing, and/or microbial limits.
- Good understanding of FDA Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Contract analytical laboratory for the pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, cannabis, and ethanol industries, located in St. Paul, MN, seeks an analytical chemist to work with a dynamic and growing team of experienced scientific professionals on several challenging analytical projects.
We are looking for qualified individuals with experience conducting instrumental analysis of various drug products matrices, dietary supplements, and ethanol products, under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) conditions. Must have good communication skills, be capable of handling multiple tasks and/or projects under deadlines and be capable of working well in a team environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations, governing analytical testing for pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, and ethanol clients.
- Ability to work under strict regulatory requirements.
- Experience with analytical instruments such as ICP-MS, HPLC, GC-FID, GC-HS, GC-MS, and GPC.
- Working knowledge of compendial methods and international standards such as USP, EP, BP, JP, ICH, etc.
- Experience with Method Development and Method Validation/Verification and Method Transfer.
- Experience with writing method protocols, analytical methods, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong oral and communication skills, and the ability to understand technical and regulatory requirements.
- Proven team player.
- Must be able to pass a background check and legally work in the US.
Education and Work Experience
- B.S. or M.S., in Chemistry or similar field.
- 3-5 years of working experience in an analytical laboratory, for pharmaceutical, or related industries.
- Must have working experience with various types of analytical instrumentation and methods.
- Knowledge of wet chemistry and related methods.
- Must be self-motivated, innovative, creative, and possess a positive, can-do attitude.
- Must be willing to work both independently and as a team-player, as circumstances warrant.
