This position is responsible for both the dispensation of medical cannabis to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program registered patients and processing the purchase of medical cannabis accessories.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure that each patient enjoys an outstanding customer-focused experience;
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the dispensary appointment calendar;
- Ensure that all scheduled persons are registered MMP patients;
- Communicate with non-patients, e.g., sales representatives, vendors, etc.;
- Provide relevant information or messages to management;
- Greet and acknowledge each patient;
- Maintain consistent standards of excellence standards;
- Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge;
- Confirm patient purchase amount before dispensing medicine;
- Dispense medicine per recommendation of counselor and patient request;
- Scan all items into point-of-sale system;
- Answer patient questions regarding medical cannabis strains, prices, and the use of related accessories;
- Process debit card and cash transactions;
- Maintain clean and orderly workstations and display cases;
- Label all medicine containers with test results;
- Explain product label information to patients;
- Reconcile register drawer cash and debit receipts at the opening and closing of each business day;
- Email patient purchase receipts upon request;
- Protect patient HIPAA rights by maintaining strict confidentiality of personal and financial information;
- Communicate patient concerns to Dispensary Manager; and
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
Prior experience in Cashier, Customer Service, and/or Sales environments.
Ability to process orders through computer system and point-of-sale system.
High School diploma
Job Classification: FLSA Non-Exempt
Physical Demand: Ability to sit, bend, and stand as necessary. Lift up to 10lbs.

Job Posting Summary:
Qualified candidates will possess experience as an Extraction Technician with a background in medical and/or adult-use cannabis extraction and/or Organic and Inorganic chemistry.
Promising applicants will also have previous experience with cannabis oil extraction techniques and familiarity with CO2 and ethanol extraction processes. This position is responsible for commercial production of cannabis extracts as well as refinement to existing extraction processes.
The Extraction Manager will monitor and maintain the safety, efficiency, and cleanliness of the Production Area. The Extraction Manager will maintain quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product and carry out day-to-day tasks including material preparation, extraction, and packaging. The Extraction Manager must monitor and maintain the Production Facility in accordance with regulations promulgated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare equipment and plant materials for extraction;
- Operate highly sophisticated extraction equipment;
- Ensure the post-processing and refinement of concentrates and extracts;
- Clean and maintain extraction equipment;
- Maintain strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, supplies, and equipment;
- Operate, maintain, and repair laboratory equipment;
- Store supplies and equipment;
- Dispose of waste according to guidelines;
- Keep laboratory, storerooms, and working areas clean and safe;
- Wash and sterilize laboratory equipment, glassware, and tools;
- Perform clerical work related to laboratory activities such as word processing, record keeping, filing, and answering telephone inquiries;
- Maintain safety data sheets for all department chemicals; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Possess degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field;
- Demonstrate at least two years of experience with supercritical CO2 and/or ethanol extraction in a lab that adheres to strict health and safety policies and procedures, preferably in a regulated field producing cannabis-infused, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical products;
- Possess either experience with fractional distillation, extraction refinement, and cannabinoid analysis or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform required duties;
- Possess knowledge of the medicinal benefits of cannabis and cannabis-derived products;
- Demonstrate effective time-management skills and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, challenging environment;
- Possess proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software and point-of-sale applications;
- Possess experience training and mentoring laboratory technicians with techniques for effective extraction and good laboratory practices.
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Principles of cannabis extraction procedures;
- Laboratory procedures and techniques as used in a chemistry laboratory;
- Extraction equipment maintenance;
- Health and safety practices and precautions applicable to a chemistry laboratory;
- Safe handling and disposal of harmful chemicals, substances, and hazardous wastes; and
- Record-keeping procedures.
Abilities:
- Keep detailed, precise records;
- Follow complex instructions and formulae in the preparation of extracts and concentrates;
- Safely operate, adapt, and maintain scientific equipment;
- Perform repairs and adjustments to a variety of laboratory equipment;
- Stay abreast of technical subjects, practices, and developments in the field of extracts;
- Maintain an inventory of equipment, supplies, and tools;
- Maintain professional, cooperative working relationships;
- Write clear and concise instructions and procedures;
- Effectively utilize computer hardware and software; and
- Learn general and specialized software applications.
