SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Family Engagement Coordinator will support the implementation of family engagement and strengthening activities, family townhalls, parent presentations and community outreach activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Consults with the Manager, relative to planning, policy, and program direction.
- Responsible for leading family engagement activities of the program. The Family Engagement Coordinator, in conjunction with the Manager, will represent the program at community and educational-based community events and activities.
- Provides support to the Manager in the development of functional program work plans, which are intended to direct program activities in the achievement of program goals and objectives.
- Under general direction of the Manager, and in conjunction with the program evaluator, performs ongoing process and outcome evaluations.
- Under general direction of the Manager, assists with plans and logistics for all program meetings and educational presentations for parents and families.
- Implements outreach activities in the community to provide parents and community residents with alcohol and cannabis prevention information.
- Represents the California Health Collaborative at meetings with committees, community agencies, care providers and related entities, and facilitates inter-agency linkages, communication, and collaboration.
- Under the general direction of the Manager, procures required levels of community support to assure contract compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Education and experience requirements may include a bachelor’s degree in Community Health, Child Development, Social Work or a related field and a minimum of one years’ experience working with high-need families in a culturally diverse setting OR A combination of work experience and education, indicating an ability to fulfill the requirements of the position. One-year related experience may be substituted for each year of college credit. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
A valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, procedure manuals, government regulations, technical articles and general business periodicals. Ability to write in an effective, concise manner. Ability to effectively present information to groups of various backgrounds and respond to questions. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and good judgment, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited or no standardization exists, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES
Ability to connect with parents and families from rural communities and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
Ability to travel and, if necessary, attend out of town meetings or conferences which could require overnight travel.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
