Chemist:
Individual(s) who will execute a variety of laboratory tasks under the direction and supervision of our Lab Director and Assistant Lab Director. The chemist is responsible for accomplishing chemical analysis. The chemist completes tasks assigned by the Lab Director to operate lab equipment, monitor and maintain cleanliness and efficiency, and drives quality control while always being compliant. This individual must be able to multitask, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to changing priorities and tasks as needed. Chemists are expected to interact with managers and supervisors to ensure proper execution of workflow tasks by other employees.
Responsibilities
- Operate laboratory extraction, distillation, de-solvation, formulation and other relevant equipment.
- Professional expertise and experience with HPLC, GC, GC/MS, ICP-MS or LC/MS/MS.
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure analytical integrity and quality control.
- Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks.
- Perform quality control tests on ingredients, completed products, and product samples.
- Conduct sample preparations: weigh and record sample weight, extract sample portions for all tests requested, create sample vials, and record final sample weight.
- Work closely with team members to deliver the highest quality products, on-time, accurately, and compliantly.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all products.
- Store all chemical materials and equipment, as well as disposal of waste according to OMMA/local guidelines and regulations.
- Follow and abide by current Laboratory Practices and OMMA rules and regulations.
- Provide feedback to Lab Director and fellow team members in support of our continuous improvement operating priority.
- Recognize and report any issues, large or small.
- Perform all tasks as directed by the Lab Director.
- Ability to learn cannabis regulations towards a sufficient understanding of the current cannabis regulations, rules and laws.
- Lab technicians can develop, modify, validate, verify, and authorize test methods and the use of those methods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree applicable to a laboratory testing environment with 2 years’ experience
- Or an Associate Degree and 5 years’ experience in testing environment.
- Must pass background check
