Core Job Description: BPRM Group, together with premier brand Leaf California , is seeking a Cannabis IPM Specialist to join our dynamic and diverse team. The successful IPM team member will be engaged with a positive attitude and will undertake the responsibility of guarding our plants against the harsh world of pests and diseases. Your hands-on approach is heavily relied on to provide protection to thousands of our living, breathing plants. Plant Scouting & Pest Control: Identify, track, and control insects adhering to company (IPM) protocols and schedules
Focus on preventative programs, scouting, sanitation, cultural practices, staying ahead of seasonal trends
Effectively operate, calibrate, and maintain all IPM related equipment, ensuring equipment is clean and available for other team members use
Daily and/or weekly tasks - complete scouting and monitoring of all rooms, setting sticky traps in growing rooms, checking regularly and replacing as needed. Observe plants for signs of stress, reporting pest pressure.
Report to and communicate with IPM, Bloom and Veg managers as to the state of their rooms
Maintain scouting map system
Assist with IPM strategies and provide feedback
Educate appropriate team members on pests and pathogen experiences in the grow, including pest/pathogen life cycle, signs and symptoms of pest/pathogen and control
Assist in beneficial insect program - releasing and rearing
Inspect nursery plants as they come in
Maintain inventory of PPE, pesticides, and other IPM related equipment ( eg. tank sprayers, hand sprayers etc. )
Work with IPM Manager and Head Grower to determine treatments for any issues that arise in the grow.
Provide status updates to management and exec personnel in weekly Monday morning meetings
Focus on 6 month goals that include: Developing new techniques and products for pest control
Increase beneficial bug diversity to increase predatory pressure in the rooms
Monitor pests in the outdoor garden Reports and Documentation: Keep detailed notes and assist in operational systems, analyze data to inform operational decisions
Weekly scout record keeping
Weekly beneficial insect releases
Regular plant treatments: dips, drenches, and sprays
Pesticide testing
Quality Control: Identify and implement methods/practices to achieve operational improvements in efficiency and quality
Pursue continued knowledge of pest eradication techniques and related learning
Promote a culture of world class performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality Safety and Performance:
Responsibility for the performance of the shift, including safety, quality, and productivity
Required to wear specially fitted, respirator mask
Maintain safety programs and other aspects of regulatory compliance
Maintain the proper tools and equipment required to perform the job effectively and safely
Facility Care and Cleaning: Maintain workspaces to ensure compliance with company quality and sanitation standards
Ensure a clean and safe cultivation facility, including the safe disposal of waste
Be a Team Player: Exhibit eagerness and passion to develop your knowledge
Stay on task and work well with coworkers
Work closely with and communicate effectively with all team leaders, management, and employees
Take direction and follow instructions with enthusiasm
Welcome constructive criticism from team leaders to maintain quality standards and production goals

Working Environment: Requires agility, physical fitness and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of indoor cultivation pest management
Ability to work in varying temperatures including high humidity and tight spaces
Ability to work using ladders and/or scaffolding
Noise level and working environment can be loud Skills, Experience and Education: Skills, Experience and Education -
HS Graduate or Diploma
Strong background in cannabis and pest management, 3+ years preferred
Familiar with and able to identify typical pest species and pathogens common to
cannabis cultivations
Gardening or agricultural experience helpful
Formal education in entomology, agriculture, horticulture, biology, or science is favored Compliance and Considerations:

You have no felony convictions (cannabis convictions exempt)
You are willing to participate in a background check
You are honest, trustworthy and have a strong work ethic
You have reliable transportation
