Position: Greenhouse Cannabis Production Manager:

Happa Farms is a new cannabis cultivation company located in south Santa Cruz county. We will operate in a 128,000 sf greenhouse growing high quality, sustainable cannabis. Because of changes in the county ordinances we will quickly become one of the largest producers in Santa Cruz. The owners of Happa Farms have been in the greenhouse business for over 70 years and in cannabis over the past 4 years. We are excited to build the team that will make Happa Farms a great success.

To start we are looking for a knowledgeable cannabis Production Manager who will be responsible for day to day operations in the growing of clones through to flower harvesting. The candidate needs to know how to implement reliable growing processes including pesticide application, biological treatment, irrigation, fertilization, nutrition, climate control and monitoring the overall health of plants and climate changes. Proven knowledge and experience in IPM & ICM is highly critical.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and be able to learn new programs.
• Understanding of plant requirements, irrigation scheduling, fertilization and integrated pest management.
• Ability to show initiative and commitment to the company’s goals & vision.
• Ability to manage people, individual workflow and improve processes.
• Knowledge on developing SOPs.
• Ability to budget, program, manage and set schedules.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers both written and verbally
• Ability to attain a pesticide application license/permit
• Ability to speak Spanish, not mandatory but very important.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or related field or; Associates Degree Horticulture or related field with 2-3 years cannabis greenhouse growing.

Responsibilities & Primary Functions:

• Hiring, training and managing a greenhouse production crew.
• Set up work schedules and duties to staff and supervise their work.
• Work with the management team to develop production expectations.
• Annual budget development and weekly forecasting for all production
• Crop management, quality control and troubleshooting crop issues
• Maintain records of crop activities including pesticide applications
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment for their area.
• Comply with all safety & health requirements.
• Carry out performance reviews for all staff under your jurisdiction
• Attend meetings for the management team and present departmental issues.
• Maintain computer records, and produce written reports of production activity
• Communicate production schedule and plans to production team
• Supervise production team to make sure that our high-quality standards are being maintained
• Prepare and plan for new plantings, inventory of plants and receiving records.
• Oversee Quality Assurance
• Communicate with sales, processing and administration
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate what is needed
• Maintain greenhouse equipment, irrigation and spray equipment and communicate greenhouse structural problems to the Maintenance team accurately and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned
