We are looking to add a Cultivation Supervisor to our team in Canby, OR.
The Cultivation Supervisor would report directly to the Director of Cultivation and would be responsible for monitoring/ supervising all aspects of cultivation from clone to harvest. This includes but is not limited to mom maintenance, following the cultivation schedule, veg canopy management, flower canopy management, nutrient mixing, IPM, pest identification, basic construction, provide training to new employees, monitor environmental conditions, harvest and cure monitoring as well as outdoor/ greenhouse experience.
This is not an entry level position. Must have OLCC workers permit (Age 21+)
The ideal candidate must have 4-5 years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience and 1-2 years as a supervisor/ manager. Must have knowledge of VPD, pwEC, VWC (cropsteering). High level communication skills are a must.

About This Role
Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. As such our growers, harvesters and trimmers are all called Cultivation Citizens.
Assistant Growers are subject matter experts responsible for maintaining healthy and productive plants. They are a key part of the Operations Technical Staff and they work in functional areas critical to plant health: from fertigation and plant creation to grow room product quality and overall sanitation. This is a dynamic team requiring dynamic skills, and as such the daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast paced and lively work environment. Citizens rely technical staff for support, quality control and plant education.
What You Will Be Doing as Cultivation Supervisor
Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assuring work tasks within their assigned responsibilities are executed per the Standard Work with high degree of Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance.
- Assuring that the production calendar is maintained and that the production goals are met by the team, to ensure best quality product through each stage of the process.
- Facilitate Tier 1 Huddles and help manage our CC Lean Management System of Visual Controls (i.e., White Boards, Visual Standards, Signage, etc.)
- Facilitate and participate in the production board meetings, engaging the Citizens and Leads in the use and leverage of these Lean tools.
- Assist Citizens staff and leads with issues that arise throughout the day.
- Flex support to the Cultivation Leads or the Cultivation Captain, when assistance is needed.
- Participate in Lean Kaizen events, Time Observation Studies, and Safety Committees
- Accountable for Quality Standard Work development and improvement.
- Perform as Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of Cannabis Plant Growth and Development: Water Sampling, Plant Health, Integrated Pest Management, etc.
Additionally some things specific to the role:
- Reporting and documenting all maintenance concerns.
- Daily collection and testing of drip and drain water.
- Weekly collection of water, leaf and bud samples for analysis.
- Set Standards and provide suggestions for improvements.
- Inspection of quality work provided by the Citizens.
- Lead chemical treatments as necessary.
- Assist with implementation of room harvest changeover plan.
- Lead mapping inside greenhouse of temperatures and irrigation differences.
- Weekly crop registration and timely reporting.
- Trial crop registration, harvesting, weighing and reporting.
- Identify and lead mitigation of Product and Process Defects in the Grow room â considering a wide variety of defects such as plant disease, pest damage, poor product quality, etc.
- Accountable for establishing and managing Quality Control checks (Leader Standard Work) to ensure process and product quality.
- Collaborate with all Citizens in improving on their daily tasks, assure proper plant quality Standards and training.
- Coordinate with the trainer to deliver and develop new standards to the cultivation team.
- Communicate with clarity and consistency to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere.
- Provide timely and professional feedback to Leadership on Quality concerns.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate using electronic media such as Slack and Outlook Email.
- Perform other duties as required; assisting the Cultivation Captain when necessary.
The Experience You Bring
- Degree in Horticulture, Biology, Agriculture, or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Experience in growing Cannabis at scale is acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Knowledge of basic MS Office and METRC. LeafLogix is a plus.
- Efficient cultivation/production work ethic with application of Lean tools.
- Knowledge in areas listed dependent on where you will work: Plant diseases, insects and fungi, fertigation, and plant treatment processes.
- Must be proactive problem solver, able to influence others in a professional and courteous manner, encourage Lean Thinking and Continuous Improvement
- Must have strong attention to detail and hold themselves and others accountable to Quality Standards of Work. Solid communication and documentation skills.
- Leadership experience working with a team of individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, pull and push 50 pounds and stand for entire 8-hour shift
- Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and squat
- Must be able to work in a highly pollenated environment (kief)
- Must be able to work in hot and humid weather conditions.

Experienced Nursery Manager / Cultivation Supervisor
We are hiring for two positions:
Experienced nursery manager to propagate clones and care for young plants. You will primarily be responsible for ensuring every plant is a trophy. Attention to detail, cleanliness, caring about the outcome are must have qualities. If you are an experienced grower you know what it takes. We grow indoor, hydroponic/rock wool.
When you're not in the nursery you will assist general cultivation where needed.
