While based in Colorado to support current grow operations, Binske is seeking a Sr. HR Manager to be a leader and strategic planner, who champions a mindset of continuous improvement. Sr. HR Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all HR functions, in a manner that aligns with business growth plans. This includes but is not limited to Labor Law Compliance, Recruiting, Employee Onboarding, Employee Training & Development, Record Keeping, Compensation, Payroll & Benefits, Culture (Employee Relation & Employee Engagement), Performance Management/Succession Planning, Risk Management/Safety & Wellness and Multi-State Employment Laws to include California.
The Sr. HR Manager is a primarily remote position, with expectations to be onsite for Colorado locations, such as Yuma or Oak Creek, Colorado, to meet with employees and management teams and to facilitate training, town halls, and onsite events. Some travel to California and future locations will be required as the company continues to expand.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leads, organizes and monitors all facets of Recruiting and Hiring. Works collectively with hiring managers to attract, hire and retain the best possible talent to satisfy immediate and long-term needs.
- Works with stakeholders to create, update and lead the delivery of an effective New Employee Training & Onboarding Program, which includes appropriate elements of our Safety Program & Safety Training. Solicits feedback from hiring managers to identify necessary changes to generate the best possible outcomes, with a focus on uniformity and consistency.
- In collaboration with other team members: Envisions, designs and launches standard operating procedures related to HR and affected stakeholders to ensure simplified and effective processes.
- Commits to keeping Job Description content current, including pay ranges. Solicits, considers and incorporates relevant feedback from managers and employees on content to revise.
- Works with CFO on Compensation Planning to align Job Descriptions, market data, budget(s), employee development and succession planning.
- Supports managers in efforts to hold employees accountable, offering guidance and assistance with corrective action and termination of employment.
- Leverages applicable systems and reports to ensure annual reviews are being tracked and followed through on.
- Supports operations management as they work to grow companywide Safety Program(s) which complies with Federal & State guidelines (OSHA) and includes but are not limited to required training and ongoing development for those who occupy higher risk roles; generally field staff.
- Fields workplace complaints and leads investigations when necessary and appropriate, adhering to expectation sets by company policy and meeting deadlines that may be imposed by external parties.
- Supports Facilities Manager(s) to create and implement an Emergency Response Plan.
- Supports Company in its efforts to minimize worker’s compensation claims costs. Periodically reviews key claims data and aligns processes with broker and carrier requirements. Provides relevant data and support to Finance team during policy renewals.
- Supports Legal team in various matters involving employees.
- Supports teams across the country, including in CA, CO and FL, to ensure state employment law compliance, develops templates and processes to ensure compliance accordingly.
- Interacts with PEO and HR Consultant as needed for employee and compliance considerations and projects.
- Supports finance to ensure the compliant execution of all Benefits Plan(s) administrative duties; enrollments, coverage changes, termination of coverage and year-end benefits statements (401k). Follows broker and vendor work flow requirements and serves as the point of contact for COBRA administration.
- Works with affected managers on the compliant handling of all leaves of absence, including but not limited to FMLA.
- Creates, maintains and improves on record-keeping policies and practices that protect confidentiality and satisfy retention requirements. Ensures compliance meets with industry standards where applicable.
- Oversees unemployment claims management in a manner that minimizes tax rate(s). Ensures, when collaborating with managers, that the company is in a position to successfully appeal or protest claims.
- Leads recurring team meetings and one to one coaching sessions with direct reports.
- Ensures all activities comply with current company policy, company values, Federal/State/Local labor laws, as well as industry standards.
- Plans company meetings and outings as directed by Executive Leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current HR Certification from SHRM and/or HRCI; SHRM-CP and/or PHR or above. SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred
- Experience with CA state employment laws, multi-state experience preferred.
- 8 years of prior leadership and at least 12 years of general experience in an HR capacity, with demonstrated achievement in organization(s) that experienced growth and employed or grew to employ 100 Employees or more.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, or related field.
- Technologically savvy and strong computer skills, with an advanced working knowledge of the primary Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Click-Up, and payroll processing (HRIS) software function/use experience.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience working in regulated industries comparable to the agriculture, consumer products, manufacturing, or sales and distribution arenas.
- Current member of SHRM or association similar to and participatory in a Peer HR Network group (local).
This position requires a dedication to working in a regular, full-time, exempt capacity. This position will pay between $85,000 to $100,000 annually depending on the qualifications, skill sets and prior experience in an HR leadership capacity.

The Human Resources Manager drives a high performance organization and partners with employees and leaders in the organization to drive business strategy. We are a fast-growing company, and this role provides HR support and drives HR initiatives for all PharmaCann and Verilife locations in Pennsylvania. We're looking for a strong business partner who is comfortable operating in the gray while we work to continue our rapid growth in Pennsylvania.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develops a strong partnership with the leadership and employees to drive regional strategy and build a high performance organization. Provides support to, internal customers in all areas of Human Resources in partnership with the centers of expertise.
- Responsible for the day-to-day HR support and serves as the HR subject matter expert to all employees.
- Develops processes and policies to build a scalable infrastructure.
- Reviews existing policies and procedures and initiates changes as necessary to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, corporate policies, and business objectives; Effectively communicates policies and change initiatives
- Uses sound judgment to provide effective performance management guidance in the areas of coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions.
- Creates, coordinates, and conducts live and virtual management training for various topics including performance management, diversity, harassment, and talent management.
- Enables growth of the organization in getting new locations operational through effectively onboarding teams for the new locations.
- Participates in organization-wide projects and champions organizational engagement and execution.
- Acts as an advisor and provides technical HR expertise and analytical support to the management team regarding the application of employment laws and corporate policies when addressing specific business issues.
- As the region grows, this role may supervise others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or Organizational Development. PHR or SPHR is strongly preferred. Experience supporting a retail organization preferred.
- At least seven years of progressive and HR generalist experience; proven ability to partner with senior leaders to drive organizational initiatives.
- Ability to plan and execute programs and projects, and roll up sleeves to manage day-to-day HR responsibilities.
- Prior experience in supporting fast paced retail organization required.
- Solid working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
- Ability to prioritize tasks working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze problems, exercise judgment and make sound objective decisions.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in human resources operations, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to quickly establish credibility and develop strong relationships, solid business acumen, and working knowledge of human resources.
- Occasional local travel to locations within the state will be required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite required.
