This is a full time position, regularly scheduled ~36-40 hours per week, with additional shifts and overtime available from time to time. This position will be regularly scheduled for 12 hours shifts 3-4 days per week.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of areas, including customer service, security, and retail. Experience working in the cannabis industry is a huge plus as well. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, who enjoys people (both customers and employees), and who is organized and can quickly adapt to an ever changing industry. We work in a highly regulated industry, so the ability to follow rules, regulations, and established SOPs is a must. High ethical standards is a requirement, as you will be working with both product and cash in a security capacity. The right person will be able and willing to occasionally float to one of our stores in Garden City (near Greeley) as needed to cover shifts for vacation time, etc.
Pay - this position starts at $14/hour for unarmed (no lethal force) or $15 for armed (carrying lethal force, after 30 days of good performance). Armed guards are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing, including marijuana to protect everyone.

Our Security team works closely with the retail and operational parts of our business.

Basic Functions of the Job:

• Provide a security presence in the budroom of the retail stores.
  
• Engage with our customers in a positive and friendly way when stationed in the budroom.
  
• Assist manager on duty with de-escalation when needed.
• Uphold the state laws and the organization's rules for both customers and employees.
  
• Provide a security presence for all big cash touchpoints, such as bank pickups and loading the ATM with cash.
• Close and lock the store, safes, and assist closing manager with all closing duties, including removing trash to the dumpsters.
• Escort closing manager and any remaining employees from the facility at the end of the shift.
• Observe other locations via extensive security camera system, to provide back up and support when needed.
• Escort vendors and visitors around the property.
• Perform "pocket checks" on employees as they leave the facilities. (these are no contact)

Ideal Skills and Experience:

• Previous security experience a huge plus, but not required. We will train you on our processes, rules, and procedures.
• Previous retail or customer service experience a huge plus!
• High ethical standards, and willingness to follow all rules by the Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) and the organization.
• Basic computer skills needed to operate camera systems, and keep up with communication and logs.

Full Job Description

We are a growing company seeking a Armed or Unarmed Security Guard in the Marijuana Industry. Among other qualifications, the position requires obtaining a MED Badge from the State of Colorado. When reviewing applications, we will give heavy preference to people who have their badge already.

• Maintains the sensibility to detect, assess, and protect security risks creating solutions to best protect the company.
• Responsible for monitoring and observing security cameras in efforts to detect suspicious and unlawful behavior.
• Performs perimeter checks around all properties, insuring the security of the premises for all employees, patients and/or customers.
• Provides excellent customer service to our customers when in the store, helping keep the line moving, etc.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Comfortable kneeling, carrying, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Must stay current and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); and obtain a Garden City Merchant Guard License.

If you choose to carry lethal force, you will be subject to a pre-hire and ongoing random drug testing, including for marijuana.

Prefer Military or Law Enforcement experience and great customer service.
