Examples of Duties
Essential Job Functions
- Conducts field inspections of properties and audits for compliance with applicable marijuana rules and regulations and re-investigates as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Conducts on site compliance reviews for marijuana establishments and compares the actual physical circumstances and use of building or site and reviews documents in the local marijuana licensing authority file to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Inspects and examines marijuana establishments for compliance including but not limited to records, premises operations and clientele requirements.
- Prepares detailed reports of observation and findings.
- Prepares correspondence on violations.
- Prepares status reports of violation calls and cases, facility inspections, calls and complaints and meets weekly or bi-weekly to update County Attorney staff.
- Prepares staff reports for meetings.
- Testify in court on contested violations as needed.
- Maintains files and records of inspection and compliance studies.
- Researches property records.
- Works closely with County attorney staff on a regular basis concerning enforcement matters.
- Conducts investigations with multiple local, state and law enforcement agencies.
- Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.

Typical Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including typewriters, computers, computer software, calculators, printers, copiers, scanners and facsimile machines.
- General principles and practices of investigation and evidence gathering and marijuana regulations.
- Conducts research and provide accurate reports.
- Handles a wide variety of public contacts with ability to deal with confrontational individuals.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalency and minimum of five years experience involving zoning or other code experience required.
OR
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in
Planning, Public Administration or other related field and minimum of one year experience involving zoning or other code experience required.
Licenses and/or Certificates:
Valid driver's license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver's license at time of hire required.
Special Requirements:
Must successfully pass background check.
