Job Description:

The Assistant Grower position supports the greenhouse staff at Allendan Seed Company in producing high quality native plants to be used for seed production.

Communicate daily, weekly, and seasonal goals with lead grower

Help with basic operational duties like seeding, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, harvesting, and maintenance

Other duties as directed by Lead Grower or Production Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong desire to grow plants and work in a greenhouse setting

Able to work independently or with a team and be flexible in a fast-pace environment

Attention to detail

Willingness to work in adverse climate conditions including heat, cold, high humidity, and light rain

Availability to work one or two Saturdays or Sundays a month (weekly time off given to compensate for hours, if necessary)

Ability to lift, stand, sit, kneel, stoop, and reach to perform duties

Reliable transportation to work

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
