Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager with strong management, and production experience preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or cannabis industries to manage processing operations at our two cultivation and
processing centers.
The Operations Manager will lead and drive all aspects of PharmaCann’s cannabis cultivation and processing into patient safe, high quality, and effective dry bud, medicinal cannabis oils and other related products for ingestion, inhalation, or topical application by registered patients.
Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)
- Manage the people and processing, and warehousing/packaging.
- Ensuring PharmaCann products are produced in a safe environment for our employees while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
- Ensuring all products are safe and effective for patient use. Develop and enforce proper product and work-in-process tracking, movement, product security and compliance with FDA cGMP’s, OSHA regulations, and applicable laboratory procedures.
- Work closely with Director of Cultivation and Director of Processing to implement best practices, drive continuous improvement and ensure SOPs are followed in daily production processes
- Lead and drive effective efficiency improvement initiatives in processing, packaging, and warehousing.
- Work closely with PharmaCann’s dispensaries and the wholesale sales team to manage product supply, the operations, and our supply chain to ensure timely delivery of PharmaCann products. Close communication and coordination with the patient facing side of our business and our commercial team is of paramount importance.
- Work closely with Director of Facilities to implement facility modifications and upgrades required for efficient production capacity
- Effectively manage and streamline all aspects of the supply chain and each process step carried out in PharmaCann’s operations.
- Identify, lead, and develop talent to maximize individual, team, and organizational effectiveness to meet company goals.
- Instill production mindset in the culture.
- Participate in PharmaCann’s innovation programs and in new product development and implementation.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have proven experience and success in a pharmaceutical, food, or beverage processing and packaging environment demonstrating a high attention to detail, organization skills, and excellent communication skills to all parts of the organization.
More specific qualifications include:
- A minimum of 5 – 7 years of proven manufacturing management and leadership experience preferably within the
pharmaceutical, food, or beverage industries.Cannabis industry experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing related discipline: Engineering, Sciences or Operations preferred. Degrees in
other disciplines are acceptable in conjunction with suitable experience and accomplishment.
- Inherently sound human resource values and problem resolution skills in combination with a history of strong
leadership skills and talent development of those directly and indirectly reporting to this person.
- Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing operations to achieve improved performance and profitability.
- Possess the financial acumen to manage, measure, and improve the operations effectiveness and profitability.
- Demonstrated accomplishment in continuous improvement and with leading Lean Six Sigma and other
manufacturing improvement initiatives highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge on managing and improving food safety, employee safety, quality, and packaging for
consumers.
- Strong communication skills to every level of the organization
- Ability to develop structure while operating in a continued startup and emerging environment.

Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)
- Ensure daily inspections of facility, cameras, alarms, including perimeter, are being conducted
- Maintenance of the daily security blotter, visitor log and other logs.
- Monitor alarms, primary contact on call list for the alarms and responds to the facility as needed.
- Security and safety of staff and campus, examples include Active shooter, Fire Drills, emergency attendance coordinator and emergency response facilitator.
- Provide guidance for security signage and locations
- See that searches of individuals departing the facility are thorough and effective.
- Maintain the integrity of the security system, including codes and functionality.
- Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors including inspectors
- Accurately file and maintain manifests and cash transaction logs after each delivery.
- Assist with packaging deliveries and verifying manifests.
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to audit and inspect finished goods on a weekly basis.
- Check-in employees and visitors
- Ensure Facility is compliant by following all PharmaCann SOP's
- Assist in making arrangements for facility tours
- Accurately file and maintain manifests and cash transaction logs after each delivery
- Assist with packaging deliveries and checking against the order form
- Demonstrate the ability to count and inspect finished goods on a weekly basis
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Previous security or law enforcement experience is a plus
- Steady employment history
- Pass a comprehensive background check that includes a criminal history and Motor Vehicle Record check
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Communicates well with employees
- Record information accurately
- Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude
Other
- Performs his/her duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry
- Carries out all procedures in an efficient manner that also complies with OSHA regulations, PharmaCann SOP’s and all applicable procedures
- Ensures compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures
Physical requirements
- Can lift at least 50 pounds
- PLEASE NOTE: During building construction, this site will be located in temporary trailers, within a construction site. Wearing personnel protective equipment will be required, as well as the ability to maneuver around construction equipment and in a construction environment. The trailers may be subject to external conditions and the inside temperature may be above or below average work locations.
Portable toilets are available on site.
The employee will be required to work weekends as required.
