Description: The Seed Apprentice/ Grower Relations position is responsible assisting senior procurement and origination team members with all aspects of the contracting and procurement process with primary crop producers. The person in this role will become an expert in agronomics of PURIS yellow field pea and/ or soybean seed varieties to support the placement of varieties on producer farm operations. The Seed Apprentice / Grower Relations will coordinate and execute acre contracting, seed sales confirmation, documentation management, and provide customer service by means of direct contact with producers and guidance during the on-farm production of the PURIS Seed varieties. On farm activities including crop scouting, storage allergen checks, and sampling will be a key part of the role facilitating grower connection. The Seed Apprentice/ Grower relations position will learn by supporting the lead procurement team members within PURIS.

Responsibilities:
- Support and execute the process of seed sales and production contracts with primary producers
- Support and execute the process of grower relations and customer service with primary producers. Make multiple phone calls to growers each day and record in the customer database system (CRM).
- Assist with the execution of PURIS Seed sales ensuring the on-time delivery of materials to primary producers
- Learn and share the agronomic information in regards to seed treatment and inoculant seed additives to PURIS products that enhance performance
- Full cycle documentation management including creating contract request forms, contract submissions and follow ups, filing, data management, and harvest planning.
- Field Visits for crop reporting purposes
- Handling and storage inspections at farm sites
- Provide weekly updates of prospects and contracted acres summaries
- Support the procurement team as needed on various administrative activities
- Other projects and duties as assigned
. Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED/Equivalent Required, Associates Degree preferred
- 1-2 years experience in the agricultural industry
- Effective Communicator: Comfortable talking on the phone, via text, and via email to producers and able to follow up within 24 hours to producer requests
- Supply Chain / logistics experience preferred
- Able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast- paced environment.
- Able to work individually as well as in teams
- Efficient learning new skills and protocols
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations.
- Able to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and OneNote
- Agronomy or farming background preferred
