Position Overview:

Assistant Grower position is responsible for assisting in the management of crop growing operations for the greenhouse.Crop production - planting, watering, fertilizing, identifying plant disease, pest control and soil nutrition. Monitor plant development & quality standards.Ensure that plant and greenhouse environments are being properly maintained.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to use a computer – Microsoft OfficeAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.Possess a strong attention to detail & accuracy.Ability to calculate figures, amounts and portions in relation to the application of fertilizers, chemicals and water.Willingness to learn various plant materials and applications.Communicate clearly with employees and management.Demonstrate reliability, dependability and flexibility in work habits.Ability to adhere to proper schedules and procedures.Follow directions, work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.Trustworthy and hard working.Organized & detail Oriented.Ability to prioritize tasks.Withstand exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat & humidity in the spring and summer to cold in the winter.

Expectations: Ability to work hours needed during busy season.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for long periods of time, walk, kneeling, crouching.Ability push, pull and carry up to 30 pounds multiple times daily.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
