DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Department of Health is successfully administering the state’s Medical Marijuana Program, providing access to medical marijuana for patients with a serious medical condition through a safe and effective method of delivery. In this position you will serve as the principal program and policy advisor to executive-level decision makers in the Department regarding the design, development, and administration of policies, procedures, and systems to manage the medical marijuana program established by the Medical Marijuana Act.
You will also provide policy direction and coordinate and implement policy/processes for the safe and effective delivery of medical marijuana to patients; identify and recommend potential rule-making and legislation for the improvement of program administration; and direct staff that oversee, regulate, license, and inspect manufacturers/dispensers of medical marijuana products.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- This position may require travel.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Ten years of professional public health, health, or drug and alcohol program experience, which includes seven years of supervisory experience in program planning and policy development, and a bachelor’s degree in public health, health, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes seven years of
supervisory experience in professional public health, health, or drug and alcohol
program planning and policy development.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing to travel.
- You must have management experience in directing and supervising staff to ensure program compliance.
- Experience in the areas of compliance, risk management, and the development of strong policies/procedures to ensure effective program management.
