Night Owl Financial is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper with Expert QBO skills (remote) to join our team!

This position is approximately 25-30 hours a week with the opportunity to grow to 40 hours a week after a probationary period of 3 months.

You will be working with a variety of clients with various needs from detailed data entry to monthly review and month-end close of client books. Most of our clients are cannabis businesses, so you must be able and willing to work within the cannabis industry. A thorough background check will be required before hiring.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new clients by assuming responsibility for client accounting software (Quick Books Online, Xero, or Accounting Suite).

• Identify and resolve data entry, bank reconciliation, and payroll reconciliation issue.

• Manage the accumulation and organization of client data.

• Recommend and implement best practices for new clients

• Assist with establishing and documenting proper accounting methods, policies, procedures, and internal controls. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

• Assist in developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting client accounting information.

• Some data entry as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of Quickbooks Online experience

• Some accounting classes

• Minimum 5-years Full-Charge bookkeeper

Experience

• Cannabis industry experience a plus

• Experience working with start-ups a plus

• Experience working with inventory

• Experience cleaning up books

Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge

• Expert in QuickBooks Online - Certified a plus

• Knowledge of 280E a plus

• Ability to effectively prioritize work and be able to work independently for long periods of time

• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

• Strong Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Outlook and Excel

• Strong organization skills with acute attention to detail

• Ability to work through messy data and make sense of it

• Ability to collaborate with team members to recognize and provide the best service to our clients

• Ability to jump from one project to another at a moment's notice
