The ideal candidate will have experience in working under typical laboratory conditions. He/She will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate about doing work which ensures products that reach consumers are indeed safe for consumption. The goal is to optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference. Compensation for this position is $40,000 – $60,000 depending on experience and compensation history. We also offer an Employee Profit-Sharing Plan.
USchemLab performs the various analytical assays that are required by the California Bureau of Cannabis Control in order to make sure that the Cannabis products which will be sold by manufacturers to consumers do not contain anything that could harm them. Assays will include potency, pesticide, toxin, and residual solvent testing.

Compensation:
$40,000 – $60,000 depending on experience and compensation history. We also offer an Employee Profit-Sharing Plan.
Who’s Right for This Job?
Someone who has:
- Must: Have a minimum of 1 years worth of hands on experience with Mass Spectrometers
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry or one of the Sciences
- JUNIOR LAB TECH – Possess a minimum of 1-3 years working in an analytical laboratory setting (with proficiency in sample preparation, accurate assay performance and data reporting).
- SENIOR LAB TECH – Possess a minimum of 3-5 years working in an analytical laboratory setting (with proficiency in sample preparation, accurate assay performance and data reporting).
- Has strong mathematical skills relevant to the field of analytical chemistry
- JUNIOR LAB TECH – Possesses 1+ year(s) experience with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)--(experience with GC-MS also preferred).
- SENIOR LAB TECH – Possesses 3+ year(s) experience with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)--(experience with GC-MS also preferred).
- Possess computer skills associated with analytical data processing and basic statistical analysis.
- Ability to independently operate either an GC or LC Mass Spectrometer
- Previous supervisory experience is a BIG plus

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Candidate will gain full proficiency in all assays performed in the lab and will be able to run these assays independently. This will entail learning various instrumentation in addition to LC-MS and GC-MS, including but not limited to qPCR, HPLC-DAD, and ICP-MS.
- Will carefully evaluate data and report to lab manager
- Assist lab manager in maintaining compliance (ensuring QA and performing necessary QC analysis)
- Troubleshoot basic equipment and assay failures.
- Maintain the laboratory (replenishing consumables and basic maintenance of analytical equipment).
