The Assistant Cultivation Manager is responsible for managing the Grow team leads overseeing Veg, Clones, Dry/Cure and Daily Operations. While implementing the companies SOPs and maintaining the overall health of the grow the job duties:
- Encourage and maintain an environment of high integrity to optimize product quality, efficiency and compliance
*Stay current and adhere to all relevant federal, and municipal regulations
- Manage all grow duties and employees
- Communicate resource and staffing needs to the Director of Cultivation
- Create/implement/maintain standard growing best practices and compliant/effective standard operating procedures
- Responsible for production; including but not limited to inventory management, plant scheduling, plant propagation, transplanting, plant establishment, grow mediums, watering, feeding, pest control, harvest, quality control, waste management, sanitation, and facility maintenance
- Develop and implement operational workflow and standard operating procedures for all grow positions, monitor effectiveness, and update as needed
- Must maintain a culture of professionalism at all times
- Monitor and adjust grow facility conditions to enhance optimization
- Maintain plant health while striving to minimize plant stress and inputs and maximize outputs
- Project and communicate production levels over time and assist Director of Cultivation in identifying strategies to maximize available resources
- Identify and develop safe and compliant pest control strategies to combat mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus, gnats, etc.
- Catalog and analyze all strains from seed to harvest to identify/mitigate issues and enhance productivity and product quality
- Develop and communicate environmentally sustainable strategies to the Cultivation Director and owners
- Maintain extensive knowledge of (OSHA,)
- Manage and maintain grow inventory management documentation, specifically including that related to inputs and applications to plants
- Hire, train, facilitate employee disciplinary action and terminate employees as needed
- Must maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times
- Develop and oversee the implementation of facility sanitation standards
- Oversee the reporting of required inventory management data in MJ Freeway
- Effectively manage and maintain relevant facility records according to federal, state, and local regulations
- Foster a positive and communicative work environment
- Encourage and assist staff with obtaining continuing education
- Assist with regular compliance audits as needed
- Facilitate training for Grow staff when necessary
- Review, maintain and update training and Standard Operating Procedures as needed
- Assist with employee inquiries regarding grow operations and best practices
- Communicate staffing needs to the Director of Cultivation
- Assist the Facility Manager in creating/maintaining facility policies and monitoring/upholding standards
- Assist the Facility Manager in managing supply and inventory levels
- Encourage and support open communication with employees to ensure a fair and friendly environment
- Lead employees to take actions that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy and values
- Follow the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with the company's mission, vision, goals, and objective
- Follow all company Crisis Response Procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Experience Required:
-Must have a stable record with experience in legal commercial cannabis cultivation of a minimum of 2 years.
-Must have 5+ years of management experience.
-Degrees in Horticulture preferable but not required.
-Must be 21 years of age or older
-Must be able to obtain a Medical Cannabis Agent card per the Dept of Agricultures qualifications and restrictions.
Working within our organizations established SOPs for all aspects of Plant Care is critical to this position. We are seeking an individual with a mastery of attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
