Guest Services Expert/Sales Associate

Position Summary
The Guest Services Expert is the face of The Madrones to the public and helps guests build a unique and memorable experience. The Guest Services Expert takes initiative to deliver a wide range of experiences that guide guests through their entire stay. They are empowered to move about their space and the property to do what needs to be done. This includes handling operational issues, addressing guest requests and sharing highlights of the local area.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Serve as primary contact for guests while staying at The Madrones or The Brambles. These duties include but are not limited to a. Actively listening to guest questions and concerns. b. Anticipating guest’s needs and engaging guests in conversation about their stay. c. Documenting guest communication per property guidelines. d. Complete understanding of THINKRESERVATION Booking Engine. e. Processing all check-ins and check-outs per property guidelines. f. Keeping track of changes in room status on the property (late check-ins/outs, room changes). g. Answering and checking messages on Front Desk/Shop line on specific days. h. Selling accommodations to guests who are same day walk-ins. i. Securing payment and verifying/adjusting payment for guests. j. Managing access to technological devices and provide basic troubleshooting for DISH and internet. k. Reviewing all guest rooms prior to check-in ensuring cleanliness and appropriate set up. l. Comprehensive Knowledge of Madrones and Brambles properties.

2. Monitoring Sun & Cricket Gift Shop. These duties include but are not limited to a. Helping partners to receive inventory. b. Printing, labeling and staging merchandise for sale. c. Communicating merchandise needs for re-order. d. Assisting in buying selected merchandise. e. Opening/Closing register and completing mid-day hand-off. f. Selling merchandise to guests.

3. Offering coverage for Bohemian Chemist when needed. These duties include but are not limited to a. Fundamental knowledge of cannabis merchandise. b. Selling merchandise to guests in Posabit. c. Opening/Closing register and completing mid-day hand-off.

4. Assisting with Advance Guest Communication for people wanting to stay at The Madrones or The
Brambles. Communication is completed on specific days by both phone and email. This includes but is not limited to a. Reserving rooms for guests. b. Complete understanding of property amenities, local area attractions and special events. c. Answering Questions related to vacation planning and Anderson Valley. d. Referring inquires related to retreats, group travel and wedding to partners.

Required Skills

• Customer Service Orientation
• Competency with communication devices including email, appropriate phone etiquette and texting.
• Competency with computers and other technological devices.
• Basic arithmetic computation for making change/counting change drawers, etc.
• Applied reading in order to complete trainings necessary for role.

Additional Notes:
This role includes opportunities for advancement for the right candidate. Some opportunities are:

1. Coordination and servicing of retreats and weddings.
2. Purchasing merchandise for shop including going to Market.
3. Planning specific events at The Madrones property to increase room sales during off season.

These opportunities would obviously result in increase in pay and/or commissions/bonuses based on revenue from retreats/events.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
