Department Descriptions
Government Relations (State regulations tracking focused)
The Government Relations and Traffic Safety Department has a need for a summer intern who would be responsible for updating all of Responsibility.org's maps of state laws. This process would include researching state DUI statutes, collaborating with state highway safety offices, traffic safety partners, the National Conference of State Legislatures and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Additionally, the intern will be asked to participate in the planning and execution of the National Alliance to Stop Impaired Driving Conference on July 29-30, to schedule and attend meetings with Congressional staff as requested and to make revisions to our web pages and publications as requested. The intern will assist with back to school activities with state highway safety offices and assisting with conference preparation and follow up. This is an exciting opportunity for a person who wants to learn more about DUI laws, Federal advocacy, and traffic safety laws and programs.
Communications & Branding (Creative focused)
Graphic Design Internship Program
Calling all students and recent graduates. We are looking for a designer who is passionate about their field and wants to make a difference. Designers that understand what they do and what they make has an impact on the world around them. Most importantly we are looking for a designer who can look beyond face value and come up with strong creative concepts. A good sense of humor is a plus!

Underage drinking prevention communications and programs intern
In this role, the intern will need to have high quality writing skills, knowledge of social media channels and messaging, and an interest in program management. Duties will include the following:
Drafting social media posts, blog entries, and community emails to support Responsibility.org's Ask, Listen, Learn: Kids and Alcohol Don't Mix underage drinking prevention program.
Creating scripts and ideas for brief, 15-30-second videos to bring awareness to prevention efforts around underage drinking and underage cannabis use.
Formulating reactions and replies to social media messages.
Drafting emails to support the underage drinking prevention programs of Responsibility.org.
Managing project timelines for external partner projects to include Discovery Education and Classroom Champions.
Brainstorming back-to-school messaging angles for campaign development as well as ways to engage with parents and educators during summer months.
Researching speakers or topics to support our parenting influencer team and micro-summits.

- Skilled in the use of the latest adobe software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Skilled in creating page layouts
- Strong use of typography
- Ability to follow the brand guidelines
- Ability to collaborate with team members
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently (and meet deadlines.)
- Ability to handle multiple projects at a time
- Ability to brainstorm, sketch, and see projects through
- Responsive to feedback that is being given by the creative team
- Assemble print-ready files
- Experience creating social media graphics
- Motion graphic knowledge and HTML knowledge is a plus
