Municipal Law Attorney
MUST HAVE RECENT EXPERIENCE WORKING AT A MUNICIPAL LAW FIRM THAT ADVISES CITIES ON ORDINANCES AND CUP's AND LAND USE EXPERIENCE.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Puzzle Group is involved obtaining real estate, entitlements and licensing for retail Dispensaries in California, New Jersey, New York and Michigan. The associate attorney’s duties will include providing advice and support on a range of matters related to cannabis licensing and regulation, drafting comments and position papers related to ordinances and regulations, drafting development agreements, assisting with transactional real estate law and preparing RFP's (Requests for Proposals) and Cannabis Dispensary applications. Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to municipalities and local governments to obtain Dispensary Licenses. Development and adaptation of Standard Operating Procedures. Development of community engagement plans and outreach to various community groups, stakeholders. Strong background required in principles of municipal and administrative law and extensive experience reviewing and drafting municipal codes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum three years of experience providing legal advice to public agencies and/or regulatory agencies, and public officials; Employment at municipal law firm or municipality is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve;
- Demonstrated ability to deal with public officials, agency personnel and members of the public;
- Demonstrated strong research and writing skills in complex areas of the law;
- Ability to work efficiently and make decisions practically and independently;
- Strong oral communication skills; and,
- Licensed to practice in all state courts and the United States District Court for the Central District.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of local and state Cannabis law;
- Experience in drafting local ordinances.
WRITING SAMPLE: Candidates are required to submit a writing sample, which may be a
recent brief, report, or legal research memo.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
