Essential Duties & Responsibilities
These include but are not limited to, the following (other duties may be assigned):
Management
- Identify, develop and build the right team and structure required for achieving the Company’s goals.
- Develop, maintain and implement effective internal controls, including but not limited to physical cash management, transaction processing, and accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage all general accounting functions, including month-end close, preparing and booking journal entries, account reconciliation, and variance analysis.
- Maintain corporate insurance and ensure correct and adequate coverage is in place. This includes the company is receiving proper service levels from insurance brokers and carriers.
Treasury and Accounting
- Oversee cash management and day-to-day commercial banking relationships.
- Review consolidated balance sheet, P&L and cash flow, operational reports, and input on actual vs. budget income statements.
- Oversee activities related to payables and receivables, ensuring that accounts are paid, and accounts receivables are collected in a timely manner.
- Process bi-weekly payroll.
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
- Implement and maintain the general ledger, sub-ledger, chart of accounts, and all accounting processes.
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
- Perform month end close, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Budget, Modelling & Financial Planning
- Assist in the annual budgeting process as well as periodic forecasting.
- Support the long-range planning efforts in coordination with the Company’s management team.
- Engage cross-functional leaders to prepare business forecasts, reports, and budgets.
- Forecast sales and gross margin performance based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in coordination with the management team.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models and provide analysis to support the Company’s strategic initiatives.
- Support business optimization, growth, and expansion plans by generating longer-term financial and sales forecasts.
Reporting
- Generate reports on revenue/ gross margin forecasts and variances, leveraging data to enable management to make decisions to improve sales performance, revenue optimization, minimize risk, and capture new opportunities.
- Forecasts sales and gross margin performance based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models and provide analysis in support of strategic initiatives.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 5 years experience in financial controls, FP&A, and reporting
- Strong use of MS products, and an expert in Excel, and accounting software
- Keen ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and building controls
- You are organized and prioritize your work to meet deadlines, adapting to unexpected priorities
- You are collaborative and build effective relationships to enable the Company to reach its goals
- You excel in an unstructured, start-up environment

What you'll do:
The Cultivation Technicians are responsible for assisting with all aspects of the company's cultivation operation from propagation to harvest. Essential functions include, but are not limited to, assisting the Cultivation Manager in various ways such as cleaning, cloning, transplanting, IPM applications, pruning plants, planting and resetting rooms as well as various miscellaneous tasks that fall under the day-to-day management of our gardens and their various individual departments.
Under the supervision of the Cultivation Manager, this team member will ensure that the facility is kept safe and compliant with OSHA standards as well as all state and local regulations at all times. This position will be responsible for following ALL Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as they relate to various aspects of our cultivation and to maintain compliance within our facility at all times. Cultivation Technicians will be responsible for many key day-to-day tasks that keep our facility operating smoothly and our production cycle on schedule. Having a positive mindset, a capacity to problem-solve, as well as a team-first attitude is critical.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities*
These include, but are not limited to, the following (other duties may be assigned):
- General cleaning duties, e.g., scrubbing and sanitizing trays in propagation room, veg room and various flowering rooms; cleaning miscellaneous growing equipment to maintain protocols; transferring plants from one stage to the next; de-fanning plants, removing waste, weighing & tracking plant waste.
- Assist with the coordination all grow operations including: Daily Activities, Quality Assurance, Potting, Manicuring, Harvesting, and Trimming as well as assuring compliance with local, state, and federal licensing requirements.
- Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, as well as information sharing.
- Completes regularly scheduled quality assessment of plants for signs of pests/disease under the training of the Cultivation Manager.
- Ensure the cultivation facility is consistently stocked with appropriate supplies at all times.
- Ensures all equipment and systems (mechanical, lighting, fertigation/plumbing, etc) are properly maintained.
- Inventory procedures as they relate to proper plant counts, tracking information for inventory to ensure that our facility is always operating in compliance.
- Mop up spills, leaks and ensuring safety signs are in place to caution employees on wet floors, oily surfaces, and other occupational hazards as soon as they are noticed.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at appropriate times as this position may be exposed to splash hazards, high temperatures, and chemicals. Complete training will be provided upon hiring.
- Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties.
- Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
- Complies with safety requirements at all times.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places.

Requirements*
- Must be 21 or over
- Minimum +1 year of professional cannabis industry experience, agriculture or plant based knowledge.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, with the use of a smartphone.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to perform carrying, grasping, lifting, walking, standing, use of ladder, use of power tools, some bending/crouching, stooping, stretching, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus, and have the ability to walk on uneven terrain.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 75 lbs. (125 lbs. with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and products.
- Must not be allergic to or have a fear of insects.
Performance Requirements:
- Must understand and implement the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company and the cultivation department.
- Have a basic understanding of cannabis laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state; a pursuit to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws is appreciated and commendable.
- Fundamental knowledge, as well as the ability to be taught and guided in areas related to cultivation with other areas being taught as the employee shows interest while still maintaining their capabilities as a cultivation technician.
- Skill in analyzing potential problems with a plant or the product being processed.
- Shows self-motivation/innovation and the ability to work well with all members of their staff and the company, as well as with their direct supervisor.
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively with various audiences, especially with direct supervisors and other co-workers.
