Joyful Butterfly is a nursery specializing in growing and providing plants specifically for butterfly gardening and feeding caterpillars. We grow most of our plants on site from seed and ship them all over the United States. We are small but growing so we are looking for people that are flexible and willing to jump in and help out where needed in our dynamic environment. Our growing takes place in greenhouses and outdoor nursery areas. Greenhouse Grower Associates will work in both areas. There are many different tasks that need to take place to keep plants growing and healthy. Reading through the Responsibilities and Duties, and the Expectations, will give you a good idea of the various tasks. This particular position is primarily for watering plants. Watering plants requires patience and attention but is very rewarding. Associates will report to our Greenhouse Manager who will coordinate the daily work.

Job type:

· Full-time or Part-time

· Seasonal, 6-7 months a year

Schedule:

· M-F, 8:30-4:30, flexible

· Overtime available (not required)

Responsibilities and Duties include:

· Watering (primarily)

· Seeding/Transplanting

· Fertilizing

· Overall plant care

· Removing bugs from plants

· Weeding

· Consolidating/organizing

· Sweeping/Cleaning benches, flooring, and potting tables

Expectations:

· Ability to lift 25 lbs occasionally and carry 10-15 lbs repeatedly

· Ability to stand for 8 hours with breaks

· Flexible to switch to different work activities with little notice

· Work as a team, open to direction

· Ability to follow instructions with attention to detail

· Reliable transportation

· Strong work ethic

· Dependable

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or the equivalent required

· Experience in greenhouse, horticulture, gardening, or agriculture highly preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
