The Role
The Grow Specialist provides support for the activities and operations of the Cultivation facility, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Ipswich Pharmaceutical Associates is hiring to expand their cultivation team in Massachusetts with an entry-level cultivator who is passionate about growing.
Responsibilities
Complete assigned tasks, and projects of the Grow Department set out by the facility manager. Main tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Harvesting plants and documenting in State traceability program
- Trimming plants and documenting in State traceability program
- Managing waste and documenting in State traceability program
- Transplanting crops at different stages and documenting in State traceability program
- Inspect and maintain irrigation, greenhouse, and other production systems
- Maintain open communication with management team and co-workers
- Report employee issues or product situations
- Follow IPA safety policies
- Follow all SOPs, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in commercial agriculture preferred
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences, especially with direct supervisors and co-workers
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees
- Basic math skills
- Understand applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures
- Ability to work alone and complete daily tasks without direct oversight
- Willingness to work on weekends/holidays is preferred
Additional Requirements
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass CORI any and all required background checks, including financial.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.

What We’re Looking For:
- At least 6 months of experience in a high volume, fast-paced customer service position
- Ability to remain 100% compliant in a highly-regulated role, operating under the microscope of ever changing rules and regulations
- Strong communication skills, since we’ll rely on you to work seamlessly with customers, coworkers, and managers
- Ability to master complex Point of Sale software – don’t worry, we’ll teach you!
- Strong work ethic with a team player mentality and a positive, can-do attitude – we work hard, but we all know it’s worth it
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Welcome and identify customer needs
- Ability to answer phones and adequately provide information or push up to management
- Ability to communicate with and manage patients/customers
- Accurately check identification cards and verify Massachusetts medical patient credentials and/or paperwork
- Responsible for handling and processing medical patient intake forms
- Explain products and services to customers
- Monitor inventory to ensure product is in stock
- Monitor and use appointment system
- Enter and process customer and patient appointments
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints
- Compliance knowledge and ability to follow all laws, rules, regulations, and company policies
- Cannabis product knowledge is preferred but we will teach you too!
- Must be able to work 7-8 hour shifts with .5 hour unpaid lunch
- Use of point-of-sale system
- Keep work areas clean and presentable
- Assist with additional administration work as needed
What We’ll Need From You:
- Regular and on-time attendance
- Commitment to a minimum of a 35 to 40 hour work week unless you are looking for part-time
- Availability to work a schedule that will include weekends, evenings, and holiday shifts, including overtime as needed (Open Availability is Required for Full-Time)
- Reliable transportation
- Must be a Massachusetts state resident that is at least 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED (this is a must; a college degree on top is awesome)
- Be able to obtain your agent identification card with the Cannabis Control Commission
- Be able to pass thorough credit and background checks
Other Qualifications:
- Must be computer literate in all Microsoft Office Suites: Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
- Previous experience in customer service or other related fields
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build rapport with customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
