Hemp Extraction Night Technician

We are a rapidly growing company in the hemp/CBD industry looking for a highly motivated and professional individual to join our team as Hemp Extraction Night Technician. Our organization located in New Windsor, NY, grows, dries and extracts hemp for the formulation of CBD products. We have an immediate need for a passionate employee to help run the extraction process during the overnight hours. This position will run operations in a regulated, compliant environment. They are expected to have a firm understanding of chemical principals that are being applied during processing. They will record essential processing information during production and report the information electronically on each batch that is processed.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and preparing product for extraction

• Oversee and assist with the setup and production of the extraction lab

• Perform ethanol-based cannabis extraction as well as required post-processing

• Occasional performance of refining and distillation procedures

• Record and report various production measurements onto physical batch records, and transfer measurements into electronic logs and tracking software

• Record and report any production, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration operations performed in equipment logbooks

• Report any variation or deviation from expected values for process times, yields, and any other defined product characteristics throughout the production process to management

• Assist in proposing changes to documentation or production processes to improve safety (from a consumer and laboratory staff viewpoint), improve product quality and production efficiencies, and to reduce delivery time and product failures

• Assist and log the disposal of all waste materials

• Accurate and consistent completion of required paperwork and compliance requirements

• Develop and maintain extraction operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and SOPs

• Additional Duties as needed

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry or related or equivalent professional experience

• Current knowledge of laboratory technology, equipment, and processes to continuously improve/adapt methods and processes

• Understanding of extraction, refining, and distillation

• Experience in distillation, filtering, and or solvent removal

• Able to follow detailed instructions and guidelines

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Deep technical understanding of equipment and equipment maintenance

• Innovative thinker who can pursue creative solutions to optimize equipment

• Mechanical inclination preferred

• Collaborative but able to work independently

• Maintains a positive “can do” attitude in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• GMP knowledge preferred

• Adaptable and reliable

• Able to lift 40+ lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30,000.00 to $65,000.00 /year
