We are looking for temporary summer help to supervise preschoolers and elementary age children and make sure they learn and have fun. The most important out of all duties is to ensure children are safe at all times. You’ll be responsible for planning and overseeing their activities. The job duties include planning summer camp games, educating children using the school's provided Christian curricula, and setting up/putting away equipment. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of this position. You must be at least 21 years old, pass a background screening, and be drug-free (including Cannabis) to qualify for this position. You may accompany the school staff on field trips.
Highly qualified candidates may be eligible for permanent positions.
Responsibilities
- Plan developmentally appropriate outdoor activities or sports for preschool and elementary age children
- Create weekly or daily schedules taking into account children’s age groups and interests
- Lead recreational and educational activities, using the school's provided curricula
- Escort and oversee children
- Educate children through games and explorations
- Set up and put away equipment
- Address child behavioral issues according to school's provided Discipline Policy
- Make sure all safety rules are followed
- Perform first aid or take care of injuries as needed
- Keep accurate incident logs
- Assist in daily cleaning duties
Skills
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old
- Experience working with groups of children
- Patient and reliable
- Organizational and communication skills
- A love for children
- Energetic and positive personality
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities like running, crouching or carrying children)

We are looking for VPK certified childcare teachers committed to using a whole-child approach toward learning. Qualified candidates lead the classroom by modeling positive, kind, and caring behaviors with the children while also providing guidance, boundaries, and well-planned learning opportunities. You will use the curricula provided by the school to create and implement meaningful, play-based, developmentally appropriate lessons for the children that cover the domains of language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific inquiry, physical development, social studies, science, and the arts. Qualified candidates will give particular attention to the social/emotional and spiritual development of the children, adapting the lessons as necessary to meet the needs of the class and/or individual students as needed. You must be able and willing to work with any children ages 2-10 of varying needs and abilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to create a developmentally appropriate, play-based learning environment that fosters independence, provides opportunity for critical thinking, sparks imagination, focuses on spiritual development, and lays a foundation for a lifetime love of learning.
Responsibilities
- Present lessons created by school provided curricula in a comprehensive manner covering all learning domains including social/emotional and spiritual development
- Provide group and individualized play-based instruction to students by promoting interactive learning and adapting instruction to meet varying abilities and needs
- Assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback to school and families
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
- Collaborate positively with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
- Report suspicions of neglect and abuse according to DCF regulations
- Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by completing all required training.
- Respond to students with kindness and with their best interests at heart
- Must pass background screening and be drug free, including cannabis
