We are looking to employ a knowledgeable and experienced Budtender to assist customers in selecting suitable cannabis products. The responsibilities of the Budtender include greeting and welcoming customers, checking in recreational and medical alike, being able to clarify the difference between false and valid identification forms, informing the manager of customer complaints and operational issues, and sharing firsthand experiences of cannabis products to address customer concerns. You should also be able to answer customers’ questions regarding the different strains of cannabis, their medicinal uses, and methods of consumption.
To be successful as a Budtender, you should keep informed of the latest developments in cannabis laws to maintain legal compliance. Ultimately, an outstanding Budtender should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills by ensuring that customers are well-informed of the medicinal benefits of terpenes and thc alike in order to guide the customer within the range of products that fit their needs best and are satisfied with their purchases.
Budtender Responsibilities:
- Advise customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis. This includes gaining knowledge of regular customers and their previous purchases and the direction they would like to continue their experience with us as. (changing strains or sticking with what they are comfortable with)
- Keeping a knowledge of new cannabis products on the shelf as well as the latest industry trends through trade shows and research. Customer recommendations are always considered when bringing out new products to the floor.
- Processing customers' payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system. Being able to split payments and account for a customer's budget while recommending products.
- Ensuring that the dispensary is clean and well-organized at all times.Following a cleaning checklist and rearranging products as necessary.
- Educating customers on the safe use of their selected cannabis products. Guiding customers with personal experience of each individual strain and the test results provided with an in depth knowledge of the effects of each terpene.
- Correctly weighing, packaging, and labeling cannabis products as required. Printing out necessary documents for labeling, displaying or selling the product as well as promotional printouts.
- Checking customers' identification documents to verify that they are of legal age. Must be 21 years of age to enter the secured dispensary unless physical proof of Montana state medical card. Correctly entering each customer into the system before they are sent in.
- Taking inventory of cannabis products and ensuring that the sales floor is adequately stocked as it is supposed to. Immediately informing Shift Lead of any discrepancies.
- Knowing how to operate Transaction Portal (TAP) for cannabis control and guiding customers/patients through their application processes. Calling Montana Department of Revenue for assistance if needed.
- Trimming, Packaging, or Processing any material when asked.
- Being available for harvesting upon request
Budtender Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience working as a Budtender.
- A valid marijuana worker's permit or license. (Required)
- Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits. (Or willingness to learn)
- Proficiency in all Google applications.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills. Especially with problem customers and being able to de-escalate a situation.
- Exceptional customer service skills. Bringing back Life time customers and making every person feel important.
- Showing up to each scheduled shift on time.
- Being able to work well with others and flexible hours
- Potential Night shifts.
There will be a 90 day probationary period and a 3-6 month loyalty evaluation, where each employee will be evaluated of their work since they have begun and will receive a raise
