Summary: An Advertising Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the different advertising projects, activities and channels that their organization uses to reach customers. Their duties include coordinating communication and production between the brand and the suppliers, setting goals and a timeline for carrying out advertising and marketing materials.
Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:
Advertising Project Managers perform many coordination and planning tasks to ensure their company’s advertising and marketing efforts are effective. Common duties and responsibilities can include:
- Collaborating with the brand leadership to determine the goals of advertising projects and strategizing plans to meet those goals
- Working with suppliers to initiate, follow up and close new jobs for the brand
- Create a schedule for new jobs, and assign those tasks using the trafficking system in place
- Review current and future timelines and project statuses with the head of department and suppliers
- Ensure that the work meets the production deadlines
· Reschedule projects based on new or changing priorities.
· Report to management about the current workflow, and communicate any possible issues with production and meeting timelines.
· Work with the accounting and production departments on invoicing, and possible additional costs due to rush fees, or unexpected deadlines.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
Prospective advertising project managers should hold a bachelor's degree in fields like advertising, communication or production. Prior experience in marketing, advertising, communications, and digital marketing required. In general, relevant entry-level experience working as a sales representative or working in the public relations field.
