The VP of Retail Operations is responsible for the supervision of all retail sales activities in the region. As a member of the Sunnyside* Retail Leadership Team, The VP of Retail Store Development & Facilities is a key strategic leader in the successful conceptualization, rollout, operations, and maintenance of Sunnyside* dispensaries. The role will also be accountable for the overall design, look and feel and go-to market strategy for all Cresco Labs dispensary channels. This individual is responsible for identifying design scope for all new and existing dispensaries, sourcing Fixtures, Furniture and Equipment. Further, this role will work in partnership with the Construction Organization and Real Estate Organization to provide input with Architects, Design Consultants and Suppliers. Additionally, this individual will serve as the lead for new-store openings, new market integrations and major store renovations. New store deals/site selection:
- Assist the Real Estate committee in the new dispensary site selection

- Provide feasibility "test-fit" plans to ensure proposed locations meet dispensary requirements.

Overview:
Direct, manage, motivate and provide administrative support to the activities and operations of multiple retail locations. Essential Functions:

Provide coaching and development training to store management and teams to inspire success.
Provide concise communication to all executive and leadership team members regarding standards, operational functions, and expectations for performance.

Create a culture that attracts, retains, and develops the highest quality of employees. Work with the store leaders to enable continued growth of retail employees to provide excellent customer experiences. Actively participate in the sourcing, interviewing, hiring, coaching, disciplining and termination of talent for all locations.
Display comprehensive knowledge of employment law
Establish a diverse, thorough training program for new hires, and continued education for existing staff
Educate, challenge, motivate, and provide guidance to Store Managers and their staff members
Responsible for deployment of initiatives to continuously manage shrinkage and oversee cash handling for all locations.
Work in conjunction with outside vendors/partners to ensure strong working relationships are established and maintained.
Maintain strong working relationships with all departments within Deep Roots Harvest. Ensuring that all location needs are properly met utilizing these inner company partners.
Identify products and services with the greatest potential for increasing revenue.
Set performance standards for each individual dispensary location
Ensure regular financial and compliance audits are performed and that each location is held accountable for the results
Hold/attend monthly meetings with the Company’s Executive team
Define and implement product positioning plan through collaboration with Marketing Team
Develop and foster positive working relationships with outside vendors
Ensure that any limiting operational factors are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner

Position Summary/Objective
The Vice President of Retail is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of retail market and store managers across the company’s cannabis dispensary locations in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, and New Jersey (future) which will include 15-20 locations within the next year. This position will oversee the growth initiatives of our retail locations and include the operationalizing and management of our dispensaries. We are building a strong ethical and team-oriented culture at Ethos Cannabis and are looking for this position to help lead and implement this vision.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed oriented and collaborative VP of Retail to provide strategic leadership, direction, and support to the company’s growing team of dispensary teams to maximize sales, margin, and profit with a customer service focus, as well as deliver a positive in-store experience that drives traffic, revenue and customer loyalty. The ideal candidate has the ability to adapt to our business model and has demonstrated leadership experience, as he or she will be given responsibility over the retail operations of our business to deliver a best-in-class and innovative cannabis retail experience. Previous cannabis retail experience is a plus but not required; however, all candidates should have some familiarity and comfortability with cannabis.
Responsibilities
· Develop and execute the retail strategy for Ethos Cannabis resulting in a best-in-class customer experience and establish enterprise policies, goals, objectives with executives, staff, and as necessary, Ethos Board members
· Develop and directly support retail operations directors and managers and indirectly support dispensary market- and store-level managers and employees
· Act as liaison with the executive management team and market-level operations leaders in leading retail initiatives
· Develop and oversee procurement plan and process for dispensary locations
· Oversee the company-wide operationalization of new dispensary locations
· Responsible for the development of retail standard operating procedures and employee training materials
· Develop and implement strategies for optimal productivity in stores through operational excellence, process improvement, and consistent resolution of challenges, with attention to customer experience, store appearance, staffing, inventory management, and financial control
· Establish process for labor optimization in retail while effectively managing overall variance to payroll budget
· Oversee all aspects of retail with a customer-first mentality and an intense focus on company culture and ethics, customer service, sales growth, and brand standards
· Ensure Ethos’ customer needs are met with effective retail solutions
· Provide leadership and input regarding commercial strategy initiatives in collaboration with other functional area leaders; direct and coordinate activities of business enterprise in relation to pricing, sales, and product sourcing; determine goods/services to be sold (including new), and set corresponding strategic direction for retail
· Work collaboratively with compliance, security, and transportation leadership regarding compliance, loss prevention, security, and logistics on all mutual issues and in prioritization of needs
· Facilitate the implementation of the Ethos marketing plan at the retail level
· Interface with technology resources to develop and continually assess tech roadmap and implementation and adjust based on customer and business needs
· Ensure compliance on all policies, standards, and values
· Assess business trends and actively partner with corporate stakeholders in order to strategize retail growth and drive business initiatives
· Impact key performance metrics through effective leadership, and provide guidance to achieve goals and profitability targets

· Accountable for controllable cost versus plan and the identification of continuous improvement opportunities

Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required
Work Experience:
· 10+ years of consumer products and/or health and wellness retail experience
· Multiple years of management experience which must include managing multiple stores in different markets and performing retail purchasing in a fast-paced retail environment
· Considerable exposure to retail cultures focused on well-developed standard operating procedures and management and employee training programs
· Ability to understand competitive landscape and trends and develop strategy and tactics accordingly

- Responsible for managing each dispensary location’s managers to provide their team with all resources, systems, policies and procedures in order to run a thriving dispensary
- Develop and implement standards for to assure that all dispensary operations such as consulting, product dispensing, cash management, inventory management, inventory auditing, outreach, marketing, and ordering are functioning with integrity and in the most cost efficient and compliant manner
- Partner with the finance department to manage store expenses and drive cost savings
- Provide leadership, supervision and direction to retail leaders by traveling to locations frequently and through routine coaching/feedback sessions. Ensures operational priorities, processes and procedures are communicated, understood and executed consistently across all locations

- Develop patient metrics, to be produced starting the month following hire, on the following:
- First time vs. repeat patients
- Frequency of visits
- Purchase habits/amounts
- Develop 3 new ideas per metric noted above for how to bring in new patients, have existing patients come in more frequently, decrease the one-and-done patients, increase total patient spend
- Visit other regions and dispensaries for ideas and a better sense of what works and what doesn't
- Provide a written report of each visit with key takeaways to be shared with dispensary managers
- Develop reporting structure, working within region, to report on the success of each promotion follow up with marketing
- Review weekly dispensary dashboard, showing both dispensary specific and aggregate numbers, to be shared with management team leadership
