Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)
- Records data into project and cost accounting financial system.
- Analyzes project tracking data to ensure that actual and estimated costs are appropriately recorded.
- Advises on preparation of budgets/forecasts based on project-specific knowledge.
- Analyzes budget to actual variances by project and provides guidance to management accordingly.
- Analyzes changes in project design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
- Works closely with operations, engineering, and other key stakeholders to track progress on all active projects, provide information to improve operations, and identify opportunities.
- Establishes key performance metrics to drive operational efficiency in recording revenue as well as accelerating the recognition of revenue.
- Monitors projects as they come online in new states and assist Controller with required licensing and registration.
- Performs monthly deep dive project reviews with the operations team to ensure proper percentage of completion compared to accumulated costs and estimated budgets.
- Establishes key performance metrics to drive operational efficiency in recording revenue as well as accelerating the recognition of revenue.
- Develops revenue reporting tools.
- Develops and deploys revenue recognition training to key stakeholders and provide the training quarterly (to cover new employees).

SCOPE OF POSITION
The candidate is responsible support the Revenue Accounting team. Candidate will play a key role in operational revenue through owning key areas for revenue analysis, revenue controls to support the month end close and financial reporting. Candidate will need to leverage their technical skills to continue developing and implementing automated solutions to improve our processes as we expand.
Responsibilities also include:
- Assist in the review of customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company’s policy and revenue recognition accounting standards;
- Key contributor in the monthly financial close, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions and the completeness of financial statements;
- Develop and maintain a system of internal controls over the revenue cycle;
- Performing fluctuation analytics for revenue and Work closely with management to ensure the company is compliant with revenue recognition principles under ASC 606;
- other metrics as required;
- Partner and collaborate with other business teams to fulfill revenue related inquiries.

- Conduct accounting research and document accounting issues in audit-ready memos
- Reconcile and prepare adjusting journal entries for accounts such as: revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, leases, and others
- Prepare workpapers supporting our consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures
- Assist with preparing financial reports and variance analyses
- Support external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests and inquiries
- Prepare information for external accounts to prepare foreign, federal, state, and local tax filings
- Assist in developing and maintaining formal internal control & process documentation
- Create efficiencies and simplification by leveraging technology solutions and automation
- Perform additional projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA a plus)
- 4+ years private accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
- Solid working knowledge of US GAAP
- Intermediate to advanced Excel preferred
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to leverage technology to invent, improve, and scale
- Experience with Intacct and Zuora a plus
