Position Summary
The Security Associate is responsible for the safe and secure operation of Company facilities. This person is directly responsible for facility security during their assigned shift and must perform their duties in compliance with MA regulations. A Security Associate must provide a safe, orderly and secure environment for all staff, visitors, the general public, and the general community. This is a non-armed position.
Responsibilities & Duties
SECURITY:
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment.
- Is capable of standing/sitting/walking for extended periods of time. (8hrs+)
- Is capable of lifting 50lbs +. (Overhead)
- Maintains a high level of integrity and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Assists with customer/crowd control measures through non-violent conflict escalation.
- Communicates clear and effectively with customers and INSA staff.
- Initiates external emergency when deemed necessary. (Police/Fire/EMS)
- Closely monitors daily operations and employee compliance. (State regulations/INSA policies)
- Carries and operates emergency telephone. (Daily)
- Effectively documents any incidents through written reports.
- Completes department related paperwork. (Daily)
- Conducts foot patrols of company grounds/parking lots hourly.
- Disposes of/manually logs removal of marijuana waste throughout departments. (Daily)
- Assists in upkeep/sanitization of security equipment and work area.
- Assists in upkeep/maintenance of customer sidewalks and parking lot. (Sweep/Shovel)
- Shows proficiency in operation of video/motion surveillance equipment.
- Thoroughly monitors alarm systems, fire systems, and properly functioning equipment. (Daily)
- Escorts and documents contractors/vendors/visitors to designated work areas.
- Collects/Assigns employee badges. (Daily)
- Holds and Assigns keys for neighboring departments. (Daily)
- Monitors 3rd party deliveries of infused/uninfused product.
- Monitors proper/safe operation of machinery throughout departments. (Daily)
- Disposes of trash and recycling throughout departments. (Daily)
- Willingness to assist other departments as requested by leadership.
TRANSPORTATION:
- Assists in transportation duties as requested by manager/leadership.
- Maintains a high level of integrity and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Is capable and comfortable operating and maintaining transport vans.
- Is capable of sitting/standing for extended periods of time. (8hrs+)
- Is capable of lifting/moving 50lbs +.
- Communicates effectively with INSA Inventory departments as well as 3rd party Inventory teams.
- Demonstrates safe and satisfactory driving skill. (Anti-Diversion, Cargo-Risk, Evasive)
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of CCC compliance laws/driving laws.
- Maintains safety, security, and control of transport vehicle at all times.
- Performs transportation vehicle/equipment inspections before every departure.
- Properly completes all transportation/wholesale related paperwork.
- Properly documents/photographs all product designated for transportation/wholesale.
- Supervises/manually records deliveries of product. (WORD,EYERIDE,GPS)
- Assists in preparation and loading of cannabis infused product in transport vans.
- Shows proficiency in transportation operating systems. (METRC,EYERIDE,GPS,WORD,EXCEL)
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous work experience in law enforcement, corrections, or security preferred
- Must have a strong work ethic and ability to work well on a team
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and honest
- Must possess excellent communication skills. Must be able to clearly and articulately explain tasks, delegate responsibility (if necessary), and provide progress reports to managers in a timely and proactive manner
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Open availability for work various work schedules
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for at least 8 hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Visual acuity needed for viewing screens and fine print

Job Purpose
The Security & Transportation Associate secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry, ensures the security of medical marijuana product, company records at dispensing facility. Safely load and transport medical marijuana product to valid/registered patients. Will also be responsible for ensuring facility compliance to the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) regulations.
The Security & Transportation Associate is also responsible for assisting with local deliveries. They work with the Patient Services Associates to prepare and ring up patient orders. They deliver products to patient homes. Security & Transportation Associates must also maintain eligibility to operate company vehicles (see Company Vehicle Policy).
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:  
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling the property
- Potential to work with challenging patients and ability to handle them
- Availability to work dispensary hours plus time prior for open and after for close, can include nights, weekends, and holidays
- May have potential outside security work for special occasions/holidays where we may be outside
- Inspect building, equipment, and access points
- Observe security cameras
- Help assist patient intake at the front when needed
- Check in visitors and permit entry to Evermore employees
- Assist with deliveries when available
- Update managers on any concerns with patients
- Call 911 for Fire, Medical emergency, and or major security breach
- Assist with maintaining landscaping, putting out signs and flags when necessary

- Perform bag checks for employees leaving premises as needed
