POSITION SUMMARY
At Thrive, the Retail Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of the daily operations at the retail facility. You will complete management and organizational tasks that support the efficiency of the store and create a great customer experience. The Assistant Store Manager will work with the Store Manager in providing guidance, direction and development to the store team in order to achieve all revenue, profit and customer service goals.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS
Employee Relations
- Leads developing employee schedules based on the store’s needs, forecasting for holidays and any requested time off, ensuring adequate coverage and maximizing efficiency
- Review and approve dispensary Mental Health Days and time off requests
- Maintains accuracy of hours worked in store scheduling platform
- Accurately tracks and reviews employee attendance points, preparing coaching documents when necessary
- Assists with training of all new employees as well as the re-training of existing employees, when needed
- Assists with scheduling and conducting employee evaluations
Customer Service
- Respond to all customer complaints, requests, concerns, or suggestions and take action when necessary to resolve conflicts
- Oversees customer interactions by maintaining contact with customers and visiting operational environments to provide coaching to store staff and optimize the customer experience
- Assists with implementing and overseeing customer service standards, suggesting system improvements when necessary
- Upholds excellent customer service standards within the store Leadership Team
Cash Handling
- Assists with facility cash handling and ensures accurate record keeping of cash counts
- Accurately counts down register tills after use- verifying total count to expected amounts and ensuring accuracy in retail cash handling
- Audits for accuracy in unused register tills
Compliance
- Assists with all facility compliance; including but not limited to record keeping, product handling, cash management, and security
- Assists with maintaining facility maintenance and cleanliness
- Uploads digital versions of logs to the store drive
- Maintains records of all employee’s required work cards- ensuring they are active
- Ensure that inventory managed properly in the Dispensary’s ICS and within Metrc
- Completes mock audits with Store Leadership, ensuring the facility stays audit ready and store staff is adequately trained on compliance standards
Leadership
- Works closely with Store and Executive Leadership to improve customer satisfaction and exceed sales goals
- Stay informed and knowledgeable about state and local laws, and industry news
- Motivates employees through proactive leadership
- Monitors activities of store employees to minimize errors, suggesting procedural updates when necessary
- Delegates tasks to facility employees
- Promotes a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with state and local laws and regulations established company policies and procedures
- Assists with training and accountability with Store Leadership Team to ensure success within their roles
Retail Operations
- Informs employees of new updates and general developments in the Company
- Maintains relationships with vendors
- Ensures proper execution of discounting
- Helps manage inventory properly by becoming versed in the use of the Inventory Control System and Electronic Verification System
- Supervises Dispensary staff during assigned shifts
- Additional tasks as assigned by Retail Store Manager
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times a day
- Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations by supervising the Dispensary a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekend, evening, and holiday shifts
- Maintain understanding of state and local cannabis laws and regulations, and how they apply to the operations of the Company
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment while demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, effective time-management, and ability to multitask
