We are looking for leaders for our new Kalamazoo retail cannabis store (dispensary). The Sales Floor Leads are responsible for overseeing a smooth and compliant operation. This includes leading the sales team, inventory, cash handling, purchasing and reporting to the Executive Team.

Our Operations Division, also referred to as Commonwealth Alternative Care is a market leader in the cultivation, processing, production, distribution and sale of a wide variety of cannabis products. We currently operate two dispensaries in Taunton and Brockton, MA, and have a license to open one more in Cambridge, MA. In addition, through distribution arrangements we have placed our products and those of hundreds of strategic partners, into 50% of the dispensaries in MA.
The Sales Floor Lead is responsible for setting the example of an āideal retail associate/PSAā. They will support senior store leadership by overseeing the sales floor and ensuring smooth opening and closing processes of the store. The Sales Floor Lead will help maximize sales and profit by assisting Patient Assistant Associates (PSAās) through coaching and training with constructive feedback and daily observations. They will maintain the flow of the store by restocking products, providing change, and interacting with PSAās and customers throughout the day to help drive sales and service levels. The ideal candidate has a passion for people and a relentless drive to deliver an outstanding experience for every customer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help clean and delegate cleaning tasks
- Restock sales floor and PSA stations throughout the day
- Verify employees have completed side work and restocked their register stations at the end of each night
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals for individual budtenders and the store
- Schedule lunches and breaks each day for the PSAās using the break and lunch schedule template
- Monitor sales throughout the day, communicate findings to team, and drive enthusiasm to achieve
- Receive and enter any incoming product in a timely and accurate manner.
- Distribute change and handle cash without error
- Provide customer discounts when appropriate in a judicious manner
- Organize and manage patient files and member paperwork
- Keep track of expiring products through Google Calendar or similar approved program
- Help with visual merchandising by maintaining store displays
- Provide staff with positive coaching and up-selling techniques
- Provide customer conflict resolution
- Monitor customer flow & react to any issues that could detract from a positive customer experience
- Perform daily observations on PSAās and provide feedback communicate clearly with all customers and coworkers
- Ensure PSA compliance with all State and Company regulations on sales floor at-all-times
- Check employee badges before each shift to ensure compliance

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21+
- 1+ years retail, sales experience and/or customer service experience is required
- 1+ years in a high-volume, fast paced environment is preferred
- High school diploma/GED required (Bachelorās degree preferred) or equivalent military experience
- Previous employment in a Cannabis facility or relevant inventory experience (preferred)
- Intermediate understanding of computer functions including POS, e-mail, and office
- Previous leadership experience with direct reports
- Superior customer service skills
- Strong understanding of inventory with strict attention to detail
- A passion for cannabis
- Excellent leadership skills

The Sales Floor Lead is responsible for setting the example of an āideal retail associate/PSAā. We are looking for leaders for our new Kalamazoo retail cannabis store (dispensary). The Sales Floor Leads are responsible for overseeing a smooth and compliant operation. This includes leading the sales team, inventory, cash handling, purchasing and reporting to the Executive Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading inventory management efforts to ensure proper tracking and allocation of inventory including intake of product, monitoring inventory levels, quickly identifying any discrepancies and conducting root cause analysis of any issues.
- Overseeing inventory levels and making recommendations on purchasing needs / PAR levels to ensure product availability.
- Educate and coach the storeās team on product knowledge, shrink protocol, and safety protocol.
- Leading and driving store performance, ensuring efficient and sound operations, maximum profit and a best in class store experience.
- Developing and ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being tracked and achieved on a period basis (e.g., weekly, monthly, and yearly)
- Collaborate and lead management team in planning and implementing strategies to attract and retain repeat customers.
- Ensure best in class customer experience exists by staying connected to customer needs, anticipating changes, and preparing teams to meet consumer challenges.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the operation based on data and customer feedback

Duties:
- Responsible for opening and closing of the dispensary as needed.
- Ensures the operations of the dispensary run in a smooth and professional fashion.
- Assisting in the oversight of the dispensaryās compliance with local and state regulations.

- Collaborating with the Store Manager to implement and manage company and dispensary best practices, policies, & procedures

- Supervises and delegates tasks to team members at the discretion of store management.
- Communicates concerns of the team to the Assistant Store Manager and/or Store Manager.
- Taking action when necessary to resolve team conflicts, in collaboration with Management
- Assists in training associates on store operations, product, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains quality customer service by establishing and enforcing company standards and handling patient inquiries and complaints.
- Assists patients with choosing the right products according to their needs.
- Verifies patient's allotment and ensure they have the allotment necessary for their purchase.
- Demonstrates appropriate interactions with customers and co-workers.
- Organizes and displays product neatly to maximize sales, ensure proper store signage is maintained at all times, and ensure the quality and freshness of all products.
- Coordinates the daily cleaning and organization of the store and stockroom.
- Ensures all necessary breaks and lunches are given.
- Assists in tracking team member attendance and performance through designated corrective action tracker.
- Lift and move merchandise up to 35lbs.
- Stand for extended periods of time (3+ hours).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for maintaining quality customer service by establishing and enforcing company standards, handling customer inquiries, and resolving any complaints.

- Provides observations to assist with employee performance reviews.
- Responsible for coordinating operations, merchandising, staffing, training, rewards, discipline, and employee evaluations for the store.
- Provide relief to other employees in any position.
- Responsible for securing the facility when closed, maintaining the secure alarm codes and safe codes.
- Create and sustain vendor relationships.
- Train, develop, coach, encourage, and champion all staff members.
- Develop and lead daily, and monthly team meetings.
- Responsible for utilizing management information tools and analyzing financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance.
- Provides access to third-party vendors for cleaning, maintenance, etc.

Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales Floor Lead to help oversee all retail operations at this location in coordination with the Assistant Manager and General Manager. The Sales Floor Lead will assist in managing personnel, inventory purchasing and tracking, sales goals, and the general day-to-day matters for every store in a given region. You will communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to implement and maintain store goals, protocols, policies and procedures in accordance with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in purchasing, pricing, and sale of all inventory on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
- Communicate with and direct store employees.
- Budtend when needed.
- Adhere to and promote a culture of compliance as it pertains to state and company regulations.
- Assist and support staff training in accordance with company and state requirements across all locations in the responsible region, as well as assist other regional managers where applicable.
- Regularly communicate with and update higher levels of management.
Requirements
- Familiarity with MI Marijuana Regulatory Agency rules and regulations regarding dispensary management.
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must have no prior major drug convictions
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Efficacy with technology and point of sale systems.
- Working knowledge of inventory and sales reports.
- 3+ of yearsā experience in a retail management position.

Position Summary
The Sales Floor Lead is responsible for setting the example of an āideal retail associate/PSAā. They will support senior store leadership by overseeing the sales floor and ensuring the smooth opening and closing processes of the store. The Sales Floor Lead will help maximize sales and profit by assisting Patient Assistant Associates (PSAās) through coaching and training with constructive feedback and daily observations. They will maintain the flow of the store by restocking products, providing change, and interacting with PSAās and customers throughout the day to help drive sales and service levels. The ideal candidate has a passion for people and a relentless drive to deliver an outstanding experience for every customer.
Responsibilities
Leadership
- Help clean and delegate cleaning tasks
- Restock sales floor and PSA stations throughout the day
- Verify employees have completed side work and restocked their register stations at the end of each night
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals for individual budtenders and the store
- Schedule lunches and breaks each day for the PSAās using the break and lunch schedule template
- Monitor sales throughout the day, communicate findings to team, and drive enthusiasm to achieve
- Open and close the store each day tending to requisite duties during each
Quality & Financial
- Receive and enter any incoming product in a timely and accurate manner.
- Distribute change and handle cash without error
- Provide customer discounts when appropriate in a judicious manner
- Organize and manage patient files and member paperwork
- Keep track of expiring products through Google Calendar or similar approved program
- Help with visual merchandising by maintaining store displays
People & Development
- Provide staff with positive coaching and up-selling techniques
- Provide customer conflict resolution
- Monitor customer flow & react to any issues that could detract from a positive customer experience
- Perform daily observations on PSAās and provide feedback communicate clearly with all customers and coworkers
Compliance
- Ensure PSA compliance with all State and Company regulations on sales floor at-all-times
- Check employee badges before each shift to ensure compliance
Skills & Abilities
- Superior customer service skills
- Strong understanding of inventory with strict attention to detail
- A passion for cannabis
- Excellent leadership skills
- Innovative / ability to think outside of the box
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to handle large amounts of cash without error
Requirement
- At least 21 years old
- 1+ years retail, sales experience and/or customer service experience is required
- 1+ years in a high-volume, fast paced environment is preferred
- High school diploma/GED required (Bachelorās degree preferred) or equivalent military experience
- Previous employment in a Cannabis facility or relevant inventory experience (preferred)
- Intermediate understanding of computer functions including POS, e-mail, and office
- Previous leadership experience with direct reports
- Every job applicant must pass a comprehensive background check, including the mandates of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. A job offer issued before the completion of a background check shall be contingent upon a positive result. A negative background check result may lead to the withdrawal of the job offer
- All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule to include days, nights and weekends to meet fluctuating business demands based on the needs of the individual department
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs
