The Purchasing Agent will collaborate with Retail, Marketing, and Operations Departments and is responsible for researching and purchasing products for resale to consumers at the wholesale level. This includes analyzing past buying trends, sales records, price, and quality of product to determine value and yield. Bloom Medicinals is one of the country's largest family-owned cannabis companies. We provide safe, effective, top-quality cannabis products that improve patients’ lives. Currently licensed in five states to grow, manufacture and/or dispense medical marijuana products for adult and pediatric patients, we are expanding rapidly as we continue to earn new state licenses and gain recognition as a trusted resource in this evolving space.
We are currently seeking an Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent primary responsibility is to assist the Head of Procurement & Materials Management with purchasing related activities to gain knowledge of Bloom Medicinals purchasing practices and strategic purchasing initiatives. After mastering the basics of the purchasing process and the steps involved to place orders, the Purchasing Agent will gain experience in developing vendor relationships by communicating with and placing repeat orders with a select group of vendors. The Purchasing Agent will also be responsible for updating reports daily, and completing purchasing related tasks for all levels of the department.
Other duties will include reconciling delivery discrepancies. Following up with vendors to correct purchase orders, vendor invoices and manifests before forwarding them to Accounting for payment. They will also collect supplier data to monitor supplier performance and issue monthly scorecards to vendors. As with all members of the Purchasing team, the Purchasing Agent must be available after hours to address operational emergencies.

- Receives, unpacks, tickets, and distributes delivery of inventory from non-cannabis storage facility by coordinating with Inventory and Asset Protection departments
- Creates and issues purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner
- Matches purchases to inventory plan
- Resolves purchase order discrepancies such as order entry errors or fluctuations in amount ordered vs. received
- Updates delivery status of orders and ensures receipt to the correct Insa location
- Receives and catalogs quoting paperwork, ensuring product is received as anticipated and any pricing changes are accounted for
- Coordinates with vendors to resolve payment, processing, past due, damages, or incomplete shipment issues

- 1-3 years of basic data entry experience in Excel required

Summary:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the purchasing of all cannabis and non-cannabis related supplies throughout the organization. This position is responsible for working with department managers and will be the liaison between all departments and purchasing.

Looking for an experienced buyer to purchase products for two locations working primarily off excel reports and supply lists. The Buyer will work closely with the Sales Manager and Owner to achieve the goals of the company.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Reviews all product costs and marketing plan to ensure items purchased are at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need in order to meet the marketing plan.
- Communicate with the Sales Manager to learn which products should be discontinued and to purchase items for upcoming sale events
- Conducts logistics planning processes while ordering products to attain the best net product price possible.
