Processing Technician
General Summary: Under the supervision of the Processing Lead, the Processing Technician will assist with all Post-Harvest responsibilities, up to the point in which the material is handled for further processing at The Botanist's cultivation facility. This position is responsible for a variety of daily tasks, including but not limited to the following examples:
- Responsible for plant inventory within the dry rooms and through the drying and shucking process
- Monitor and oversee the environmental conditions of the dry rooms to ensure they remain within acceptable tolerances
- Responsible for assisting with multiple types of harvests ("Fresh Frozen" and Standard harvest)
- Responsible for the removal of plants from the dry rooms based on the schedule of the drying process
- Assisting in the removal of flowers ("shucking") from branches based on the schedule of the drying process
- Assisting in the recording of plant material and waste weights through paper records, roll-forward spreadsheet, and seed-to-sale tracking software(s) (Biotrack and METRC)
- Move plant material into quarantine area as it awaits third-party testing results
- Assisting in the monitoring the "moisture content" of the plant material after the shucking process and prior to the material being sent out for third-party analytical testing
- Prepare samples of plant material from each harvest batch, in 10 lb. batches, for third-party analytical testing
- Consolidate plant material into long term storage containers once third-party testing has been received and remove from quarantine area
- Assisting in adhering required labeling to consolidated long term storage containers
- Perform routine inventory audits of material within the Post-Harvest Department
- Assisting in the 'curing' process of the plant material in long-term storage and ensure the material is maintaining the appropriate "moisture content"
- Always adhere to state and company policies, following appropriate Standard Operating Procedure according to assigned task
- Verify quality control standards are being met throughout every phase of the Post-Harvest production process, while material is under chain of custody
- Ensure production goals established by the Post-Harvest Lead are being met
- Accurate record keeping abilities
- Close attention to detail - continuously maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Ensure that all product is properly secured and stored at the beginning, during, and end of each working day
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to defoliation, and post-harvest cleaning
- Uphold all standards and procedures pertaining to facility cleanliness, such as cleaning of supplies, workspaces, transition room
- Assist with other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Processing Lead and/or Director of Production

The Post Processing Technicians is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the flower operation including intake, drying, curing, bucking, and trimming, to satisfy department standards of appearance and overall quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Must be able to adapt to varying strains, styles, and types of cannabis flowers
- Work under direction of the Dry Room Lead
- Assist in Dry Room functions during harvest
- Assist in all flower processing related tasks (harvesting, de-leafing, de-hanging, de-stemming, bucking, weighing, hanging, trimming)
- Identify molds, mildew, bugs, viruses, etc.
- Performing quality control inspections of cannabis material
- Label product containers of various cannabis materials
- Perform all dry flower processing tasks according to the SOP’s
- Perform sanitation during all procedures that pertain to the Post Processing Department

Role Overview
Grassroots Cannabis is looking for a Post Processing Technician who can become an integral part of our organization and grow with our company. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative and passionate, able to beat deadlines and find answers when it appears there are none.
In this role, you will work to mass produce ultra high purity cannabis oil using filtration and distillation techniques at maximum functionality and efficiency.
Role Responsibilities
- Operate cannabis extraction equipment safely.
- Conducts themselves safely and professionally.
- Perform preparation and cleaning of equipment and workspace efficiently.
- Create a product in a mass production setting.
- Follows good manufacturing practice standards.
- Work in hazardous environments and conditions.
- Record data efficiently and effectively.
- Interact with Metrc, inventory systems, and reports to ensure that all material is being tracked in accordance with state law
- Logging and reporting as required by state law
- Preparing and cleaning equipment
- Operating distillation and filtration equipment
- Blend cannabis oils as needed for products like Torches
- Maintain extraction equipment and laboratory facility
- Maintaining strict inventory records of all materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the laboratory
- Operating, maintaining, and making adjustments and repairs to laboratory equipment
- Washing and sterilizing laboratory glassware
- Performing clerical work related to laboratory activities such as record keeping
You will be required to perform the following types of cannabis oil extractions and filtrations;

- Must be able to obtain a state-issued cultivation badge, which includes passing a background check free of felony convictions

Extraction technicians will be responsible for the operation of an ETS MeP-70 hydrocarbon extraction skid system, logging manufacturing data, track and trace management, general manufacturing responsibilities and daily coordination with the other departments within the facility. Post processing technicians will be responsible for purging final product, preparing product for shipment, logging post processing data, track and trace management, inventory management, general post processing responsibilities and daily coordination with the other departments within the facility. It is the responsibility of the these technicians to coordinate with each other as well as the biomass processing team to ensure operations are ran fluently and efficiently. The ideal technician is detail oriented with a background in cannabis manufacturing and/or mechanics. The optimum candidate for this position would not only have a background in cannabis extraction but would also have a passion for high quality cannabis extracts. Applicants that excel in the areas of clerical, managerial and can maintain an overview of operations will be compensated accordingly. We are a large start up that is very successful in the cannabis space and there is a high potential for advancement from the ground floor.
