The Per Diem Pharmacist of the dispensary is a registered Pharmacist who is responsible for providing an outstanding patient experience while maximizing revenue goals, assisting the General Manager in leading the development of the dispensary staff, and ensuring compliance with all inventory, security, and system protocols. Retail Operations
- Drive retail sales and patient retention

Job Description
The Per Diem Pharmacist of the dispensary is a registered Pharmacist who is responsible for providing an outstanding patient experience while maximizing revenue goals, assisting the General Manager in leading the development of the dispensary staff, and ensuring compliance with all inventory, security, and system protocols. This sales-oriented individual should be passionate about the benefits of medical cannabis and making a difference in our patients' lives.
Duties and responsibilities:
Retail Operations
- Drive retail sales and patient retention
- Maintain all store operational standards
- Oversee inventory standards are maintained on-site.
- Operate POS and corresponding systems
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal and state laws
- Maintains a safe, clean environment for patients and employees
- Maintain patient confidentiality
Patient Care:
- Develop high customer experience standards and engagement through sales training and product knowledge.
- Assist patients with their questions, problems, and complaints
- Handle all patient-related issues in accordance with company policy
- Promote a positive experience for all patients
- Direct and oversee in coordination with the General Manager all patient interactions and provide clinical oversight
- Coordinate with practitioners to facilitate positive patient outcomes
- Promote PharmaCann customer service culture
- Develop a deep understanding of cannabis forms, dosing, drug interactions, and side effects
- Understand the efficacy of variance strains, potencies, and methods of delivery
- Understand and recommend dosing based upon patient conditions
- Follow all processes to ensure accurate and safety protocols and SOPs are maintained as part of the quality assurance program
- Ensure on-the-job safety of all employees and treatment for employee injuries sustained on the job
- Supervise and coordinate delivery operations and provide clinical oversight
- Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacist license in good standing
- Flexible availability
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check
- 3 years of multi-unit retail or similar operation experience
- Required state/local licenses/permits/certifications for work being performed

Summary/Objective:

- Performing general office work, such as filing records, operating copy machines, and using email as correspondence.

The Pharmacistat Curaleaf is responsible for providing an outstanding patient experience while maximizing revenue goals, leading the management & development of the dispensary staff and ensuring compliance with all inventory, security, and system protocols in the absence of the Dispensary Manager.
The Pharmacist is also responsible for forecasting inventory levels, ordering & receiving the product, and maintaining accurate systems for regulatory reporting and sales analysis. The Pharmacist will fill in on an as-needed basis to develop, document and implement practices, policies, and strategies that support performance and results-driven culture.
Essential functions:
- Drive retail sales and patient retention

- Operate POS and corresponding systems

Patient Care:

Manage dispensary employees:
- Lead the team and work effectively with dispensary employees

- Conduct performance appraisals for all directly assigned personnel and monitor and manage to expectations

Patient and Physician Outreach:
- Organize and lead guest tours, and maintain relationships with physicians, patients, politicians and professionals in the community that we serve
- Provide ongoing education and outreach programs relating to medical cannabis for the benefit of member patients
- Coordinate on the success of promotions, coupon and recommend future promotions and sales
- Measure customer satisfaction through surveys and interviews
- Responsible for the preparation of content for all educational materials and presentations
Cannabis knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of cannabis forms, dosing, drug interactions, and side effects
- Understand the efficacy of variance strains, potencies, and methods of delivery
Qualifications:
- Certified Registered Connecticut State Pharmacist
- Pharmacy experience a plus
- Experience working in a heavily regulated industry necessary
- Strong leadership skills, ability to build and manage teams
- Subject to background check, per state cannabis regulations

Reports to: General Manager
Position Overview:
The Pharmacist is responsible for consulting with qualified patients and caregivers and administering approved medical marijuana products. The Pharmacist oversees all activities related to the operation of the Dispensing Facility to include patient identification and registration, record retention, product tracking and inventory control. This position requires that the incumbent maintains an active State pharmacist license and has completed the course(s) pursuant to the Statute.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
- Ensuring compliance with all State Medical Marijuana Program rules and regulations governing the Act, and directly supervising the activity within the dispensary to include dispensary staff training and education.
- Providing management and leadership in the Dispensing Facility to include monitoring all point of sale transactions.
- Managing patient specific logs as required, receiving, storage and auditing of all inventory, and is responsible for ordering new inventory and supplies, maintaining accurate records using ADILAS, the Dispensing Facility’s inventory tracking software program.
- As the responsible party at the Dispensing Facility, this position resolves all inventory discrepancies as well as any patient-staff conflicts.
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in the pharmaceutical sciences; Pharm. D. preferred.
- An active license in good standing without restrictions.
- Satisfactory completion of the State Medical Use of Marijuana CME designation.
- Familiarity with computers.
- Recent experience (within the last 5 years) with patient-oriented drug delivery systems and a passion for patient care and service delivery.

Position Overview:
The Pharmacist is responsible for consulting with qualified patients and caregivers and administering approved medical marijuana products. The Pharmacist oversees all activities related to the operation of the Dispensing Facility to include patient identification and registration, record retention, product tracking and inventory control. This position requires that the incumbent maintains an active State pharmacist license and has completed the course(s) pursuant to the Statute.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
- Ensuring compliance with all State Medical Marijuana Program rules and regulations governing the Act, and directly supervising the activity within the dispensary to include dispensary staff training and education.
- Providing management and leadership in the Dispensing Facility to include monitoring all point of sale transactions.
- Managing patient specific logs as required, receiving, storage and auditing of all inventory, and is responsible for ordering new inventory and supplies, maintaining accurate records using ADILAS, the Dispensing Facility’s inventory tracking software program.
- As the responsible party at the Dispensing Facility, this position resolves all inventory discrepancies as well as any patient-staff conflicts.
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in the pharmaceutical sciences; Pharm. D. preferred.
- An active license in good standing without restrictions.
- Satisfactory completion of the State Medical Use of Marijuana CME designation.
- Familiarity with computers.
- Recent experience (within the last 5 years) with patient-oriented drug delivery systems and a passion for patient care and service delivery.

The Role
We are seeking a Per Diem Pharmacist to direct and manage the dispensing of cannabis products to the patients of our Abingdon, VA dispensary. In this role, you'll serve as the onsite medical authority, ensuring patients receive correct dosage along with a healthy amount of education and counseling. You'll have the unique opportunity to serve as a one-on-one educator to our cannabis patients, and you'll excel at completing a prospective drug utilization review to assess: appropriateness of therapy; appropriate strain, dosage, route, and duration; allergies and drug interactions contraindications; and possible misuse. Responsibilities
- Pharmacists shall be in-store at all times during their scheduled shift to allow for dispensation of cannabis products.
- Responsible for securing coverage for any time off (paid time off or unpaid time off). Schedule changes shall be communicated with dispensary managers in advance and expected to follow fair scheduling practices.
- Assess patient certification to monitor for restrictions and where appropriate help patients to determine best course of treatment.
- Drive retail sales and patient retention
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal and state laws
- Communicate restrictions with dispensary team to ensure any limitations on product selection/quantity
- Provide timely and accurate medication information to patients over the phone and in-person

- Responsible to stay up to date on current research and information related to cannabis/marijuana
- Pharmacists may assist with additional dispensary tasks, as store manager deems fit. These include but are not limited to accepting product deliveries, returns, inventory controls, employee trainings, fulfilling online orders, and completing patient orders at the registers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be a registered and licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the state of operations
- 2+ years of relevant pharmacy experience with an excellent patient and customer focused approach
- Ability to learn and understand cannabinoids and how they interact with the human body
- Previous experience utilizing Point of Sale technology systems.
- Working knowledge of inventory and sales reporting
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking

Communicate restrictions with dispensary team to ensure any limitations on product selection/quantity
Provide timely and accurate medication information to patients over the phone and in-person
Educate new and existing patients about the properties and benefits of cannabis
Consults patients and assesses patient's certification to recommend best course of treatment
Responsible to stay up to date on current research and information related to cannabis/marijuana
HCPs may assist with additional dispensary tasks, as store manager deems fit. These include but are not limited to accepting product deliveries, returns, inventory controls, employee trainings, fulfilling online orders, and completing patient orders at the registers
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be a registered Pharmacist in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania or qualify as one of the alternative licensee requirements; D.O, M.D., Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant
2+ years of relevant pharmacy experience with an excellent patient and customer focused approach
Complete the PA Department of Health's Cannabis Health Professional training certificate
Ability to learn and understand cannabinoids and how they interact with the human body
Previous experience utilizing Point of Sale technology systems.
Working knowledge of inventory and sales reporting
Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Possesses a high level of critical thinking
Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information

Per Diem Pharmacists are responsible for dispensing of cannabis products to Ethos patients at our dispensary and for providing patients with an excellent customer experience. In addition, Per Diem Pharmacists will ensure patients receive the correct dosage as well as education and counseling as needed. Per Diem Pharmacists are expected to complete a prospective drug utilization review to assess the appropriateness of the therapy, dose, route, duration, allergies and drug interactions, contraindications, and possible misuse. We are building a strong ethical and team-oriented culture at Ethos and are looking for this position to help ensure this vision.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed oriented and collaborative Per Diem Pharmacist. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. Previous cannabis retail experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Become proficient with the point of sale system (MJ Freeway)
- Ensure compliance with all Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program rules and regulations
- Dispense medical cannabis medications based on patient's physician recommendations
- Provide individual patient consultations to determine the best therapy in conjunction with the recommendations made by patient's physician
- Submit and review the state prescription monitoring program
- Comply with state laws as regulated by the Pennsylvania medical cannabis program
- Maintain records along with removing outdated and damaged drugs from dispensary inventory
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintain pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; working to establish personal networks
- Support marketing content creation on by-project basis
Qualifications
Education:
- PharmD active license in good standing without restrictions
